Yeah, that happened to me with Corrosion of Conformity and Dark Tranquillity.

Fairly good? You mean some of the most incredible Death Metal ever to come out of the US.

This happens rather frequently with me, since at times I'm rather impatient with some music and would judge a certain album harshly based only on a few listens, without letting the music sink in.

I was like, wha...? But then I realized I was mixing up Divine Eve with The Eve of the Entities by Burning Inside (quite a stretch I admit. I'll blame it on post THC syndrome).

oh, I also checked out Pestilence for the first time after liking Asphyx for a while. Consuming Impulse rules.

about time! and yes, that album does rule.

with most people its the other way around, they are into Pestilence and discover Asphyx later.
