Metal Zone as a tubescreamer

a metal zone is a distortion, that's quite a bit different from an overdrive... if you like to fizz up your sound in stead of tighten it up i'd say go ahead

A good example of this metalzone use is Pat O'Brien from Cannibal Corpse.
His live setup is: guitar -> metalzone -> triple recto
The latest 3 album was recorded with:
guitar -> metalzone -> triple recto (with gain maxed!)
(and no noise gate/suppressor)
The metalzone with 0 gain add a lot of attack to the amp...I'll try with my savage next week.
I saw cannibal corpse live 3 weeks ago and the guitar sound was incredible...awesome low end, crazy attack....fuckin brutal!

Nothing wrong with trying it! I had a metal zone for a while years ago, but I cant stand distortion pedals now. Ive got a feeling using a distortion pedal rather than a light overdrive *TS* might really colour the sound a lot more and make it real fuzzy. But ive never tried it personally so blast away!....and if its good, post some clips!
