I personally don't care one way or another if some slutty chick decides to go to a show because she's starved for attention and somehow to her that's acceptable to throw herself at some guy just because he's in a band. It really doesn't affect me, but I will say that its pretty disgusting behavior, and I wouldn't give such a person the time of day. It does create the impression that "metal" chicks are basically slutty, and it is reflected in the ignorant behavior of alot of the guys at metal shows, so I can see where it would impact some of the worthwhile females who actually want to hear music and go unharassed negatively. On a side note, since there are so many people from Atlanta posting here...know any good metal drummers interested in sessioning on a recording?? :)

You know, that makes me happy too.. I've actually encounted some guys who think that women shouldn't be into metal but should still be there at the shows to support the interests of their boyfriends :puke: Yeah, I'm not kidding! Who would have thought that it would be an issue to some guys that there are girls who honestly and wholeheartedly love the same music?! I'm glad THOSE guys are in the minority!

Wow... That just doesn't make any sense. Why would you want your girlfriend to not be interested in the music you like? And then, why would you drag her to a show that she isn't going to like? Doesn't sound like a very fun evening to me.

I'll be traveling to Atlanta plenty, but I might not have spare time.. If I do, I'll certainly post it! :]

Cool. I'm guessing that you come here on business?

P.s.- Thanks! I'm actually glad I could use it! I was afraid it would be too big for the requirements.. I have a million avatars but this one is my favorite because, well, cuz it's ME and not some cartoon character or band member! hahaha!

Well, it's good to actually see you! :)

Well, I'm hoping I didn't fit into the "slutty" looking category, tho I dressed up some this year, and definitely dressed up last year and got a lot of attention. I love the music, and that's of primary importance, but I also don't get out much, so I have to take my opportunities to wear my new clothes when I can. :)

Rottingflesh--feel free to drop me an e at blackdiamond@mindspring.com if you and you pal ever want more company (and you didn't think the drunk chick in leather pants Friday night was one of those annoying chicks :) ). I'm up in Kennesaw. :)

@Sh0kR0k - I'll say you have business to take care of in Atlanta! :D

Hey, Wandrail, I live in Roswell. What kind of drummer do you need? I may know someone. Y'all need a bassist? :) I'm looking to find a prog/power band in the Atlanta area to jam/play with. E-mail me off-list at metallisnob@yahoo.com and we can try to hook up sometime.

@NukeSymphony - haha hey man! Good to see you're spreading the metal faith across the seas. You will have to make your way back so we can all hang out again, man. I personally think Sh0k is more than metal enough to make up for the lack of other females

Man, as a MATTER of fact, we could use a bassist. I was going to do the basslines on the next cd, but it would be ideal to find a good, creative bassist instead. I will definitely email you and fill you in on exactly what type of operation we're running with Coronach  We definitely have some prog/power elements, its all very epic sounding, utilizes some celtic rhythms and melodies both onguitar and vocally, and alot of what we write about is rooted in the same, although we do write about other more personal things, its just done in amanner that is cohesive to the overall sound and idea. I'll email you, man, thanks!

It's always good to find more good metal people in a non-metal town like Atlanta. I'd be happy to hang out anytime. Drop me a line off-list: metallisnob@yahoo.com

I just wish more women were into metal instead of bubblegum crap or hiphop. There is more power for women in metal, IMO. Just look at Sharon Osbourne.
Also, are there any metalheads in or around Charlotte, NC?

Wow, there really seems to be a lot of us in Atlanta.
Maybe it is not as much of a non-metal town as we think.

Perhaps we should start some kind of metal club or organization, or at least all email Iron Maiden so they come to Atlanta on their world tour next year.

Probably wouldn't hurt us to all get together at some point. I'm sure I saw half of you at ProgPower. :)

@Wishmaster - I won't be in Atlanta on business, I'll be visiting Wandrail. ....Say, I wonder if someday all of you AtlantaMetalHeads and I could get together and we all go out for a MassMetalLunch or something  I guess that depends how far away all of you are from eachother...

@NuclearSymphony - DooooooooD!! Good to see you here man! Check out the rest of the UltimateMetal.com forums too if you haven't already! Hey - e-mail or PM me the link to the GreenPlaids forum! I need to post my intake list :heh:

@Wandrail - If visiting you is business.. then I really like my job :D

@lady_space - I think I remember you from the festival, but then again I saw several girls in leather pants  Rest assured, I wasn't refering to you because the PP3 crowd was AWESOME! ... On another topic, did you used to be a part of a website called Neopets? I knew someone with the user name "Lady_Space" and she was a good friend. It wouldn't surprise me to find her here, so I thoguht I'd ask. If you ARE familiar with Neopets, youwould know me under the screen name "KissArmy"... If you AREN'T, then I look like an ass :)

I mentioned Maidens tour to my bro at the Symphony X / Blind Guardian show and the dude next to me is like "YEAH! I heard they were touring with Dream Theater and Iced Earth!!" and I tell him "riiiiiiiiiight....that would be the show to end all shows but chances are wont happen." Why do people feel the need to make stuff up like that?

ps: sorry from going off topic from anything relevant in this thread. it seemed like a good place to toss that in.

Apparently, I don't live all that far from Wandrail, so it wouldn't be all that hard to meet up somewhere. E-mail me if you want to try and plan on something.
