Metallic love songs?

I don't consider harvest as a love song...For me it's somekind of dirge .....

Hmmmm I think i'll say Steel "Say goodbye to love"
I'm listening to this song quite often lately, although it sounds a bit silly hehe

Yeah. A bit. I agree. I didn't even get that far...really listening to it. I like how funny it sounds to me. It sounds extremely trying on his vocals...so, like I said, I'd only hear the tones and laugh. I have yet to listen to it really.

Just wondering, what are everyone's favorite metal-flavored love songs?

I feel a lot of love in Opeth's works. It's usually broken love in a way, but I would be lying if I named any other band. Sort of ticked me off once when I heard some dweeb say that's why Opeth has a lot of 'women followers', like women are the only creatures capable of seeing the beauty in it. How's it go Hoser? "Oh, Ok. You're stupid. Excuse me." ;)

"And your voice is vast and achromatic. But still so precious."

Nothing comes even close. The song itself isn't that amazing but the lyrics.

Agreed. Actually, I really love the song, and the lyrics are extremely special.

"In currents of cobalt you storm through my heart"....

But I think the ultimate metal flavoured love song is either, 'For You' by My Dying Bride from the 'Like Gods of the Sun' album, or 'Starres' from Saturnus' mini album, 'For the Loveless Lonely Nights'.

In fact about 80% of My Dying Bride's songs could qualify for the best love/metal song.

Opeth - Face of Melinda.. But i dont know if you can class it as Metal, as it is very calm and "jazzy, and bluesy"..

So, Godhead´s Lament maybe? I think that the whole Still Life is about love, and My arms, your hearse as well.. I dunno..

the ultimate lovesong is 'lovesongs' from New Model Army

".. but they always play lovesongs
when you're far away... *singalong*"

Hey Requiem,
nice you picked on Saturnus.
But I think For Your Demons is more 'balladic one' than Starres though.

Yeah, definitely, but I was thinking more along the lines of 'metallic love songs' like the thread originally stated. 'For Your Demons' is an amazing song, but it's acoustic guitar and violin: hardly metallic! :)
