Metallica complex

Also, Opeth should have been mentioned here several times already because their early stuff was great but starting with "Heritage" they've been endlessly fellating the God of almightily horrible bullshit music ever since.

A band doesn't automatically go to shit just because it drifts away from metal. However, it's increasingly clear that you are laboring under that very assumption.

It does if you don't like anything except for metal, so youre incorrect but that doesn't mean that the music quality itself is bad

This doesn't even make sense since you're saying the music can be good while no longer being metal.

Also, pretty much every person who only likes metal music has shitty music taste.

Oh, look at this surprisingly watery piece of diarrhea I found floating in my toilet bowl after suffering from a serious case of ear poisoning, no matter how many times I flush it just won't go away:

People talk about America's Volume Dealer from Corrosion of Conformity being like the band going 'Metallica' in terms of a commercially viable product. I really enjoy that album and if I am comparing AVD to Load, I'll take AVD over it if we're speaking from a strictly 'what has better replay value?' sense.

in before Krow shits on CoC

I don't know if I would say AVD is "better" than Load. They are both fine for what they are.

That's really the issue I have with complaints about Metallica. The hate on St Anger is justified to some degree, but Load/ReLoad are perfectly fine albums for what they are. Why does Metallica have to make MoP II,III,IV etc?

Because that's what people ultimately want. If Slayer had repackaged Hell Awaits, changed the lyrics and song titles, released it this year and called it 'Repentless', people would hail it as a classic right now.

Any deviation from a sound someone likes is seen as 'inferior' and ultimately 'shit', 'bad', etc. without taking the time to actually listen to the music and see if they actually like it (see: Trivium, Slipknot, etc)

'Repentless'

Well, I wouldn't ever call either of those bands "good", but there's a couple of enjoyable albums from Trivium and Killswitch Engage and Devildriver if once can pull the rod from their ass for a moment.

Well, okay you have a fair point. But yes, At least 2 albums from each band are enjoyable.

The only good song on "Repentless" was the title track. R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman, the true genius behind the greatest Thrash Metal band that ever existed, no other clusterfucks could ever hold a candle to Slayer in their prime with Hanneman.

Im pretty sure you meant to say was that there isnt a single good song on that album.

Also there are PLENTY of people that love to hate on bands like Slayer, CC etc for sticking to their signature sound throughout most of their career .... but when it comes to their favorite bands, its all fine and dandy.

Some of you guys seem to think that chasing trends is being creative, which is pretty ridiculous imo.
