Metalmania 2005--an amazing opportunity to see such grands as Cradle of Filth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth, Arcturus, Apocalyptica--i must say these are my top-list bands--as well as other very decent bands as Behemoth, Dark Funeral, Napalm Death-- isn't it?
But what the hell! There is one thing that really makes me nuts: the main stage will also be given to a Russian band called--Anj! Now, tell me
1) if anyone anywhere anyhow heard anything about this band...
2) does it have any connection to the METAL scene at all? (www.anj.su)
3) terms and conditions of participation in the festivals like this one?
Personally, I think that this is just another implementation of so called soviet legacy (note the domain-->.su, which obviously means Soviet Union): when the main criterion is not your professionalism, originality, and talent, but rather your financial success.
Perhaps, the festival should be renamed into Metal-money 2005?
P.S. I do not believe that there are not any decent representatives of metal scene in Russia, apart from Anj, which I would not even call a metal band.
P.P.S. Care to listen to their mp3? go here: http://www.anj.su/disk.shtml
