I'm trying to build up my mic collection just now and I'm really interested to see what people have in theirs. Mine is pretty small at the moment, but here goes.

AKG C1000S x2
Audio Technica AT4040
Audix D6
Audix D2 x2
Audix D4
Audix i5
Heil PR40
Oktava MK-012 x2
Shure SM7B
Shure SM57 x2
Shure Beta 52A

Ideally going to add something like an AKG C414 and maybe another SDC. I'd like to get a cheap Ribbon mic like the RB500 and mod it, but I'll see how the cashflow goes.

What you got?

Audio Technica AT4040 x2
Audix D6
Audix D2 x2
Beyerdynamic M-201 x2
Heil PR30
Michael Joly "Hulk" 990 (U87)
Neumann KM 184 x2
Royer R-121
Sennheiser MD 421 x2
Shure Beta 57 A
Shure Beta 91 A
Shure SM 7 b
Shure SM 57 x2

I'd like to get one more Sennheiser MD421 at some point, and I am interested in the Beyerdynamic M160. But for now I am pretty satisfied with my mics.

Btw I never liked the AKG C414 honestly, it's decent of course but why spend 1k on a mic that's just "ok" without any "character"? The switchable characteristics are cool in theory, but unnecessary 99% of the time. At least that was the case for me when I had access to the mic in school.

Shure SM7B
Shure SM57 Transformerless
Shure Beta 91A
Audix I5 x 4
Sennheiser E904
Sennheiser E602
Sennheiser BF521
Sennheiser Vintage MD421
Audio Technica AT4040
Audio Technica ATM450 x 2
CAD M179 x 2
AKG C391B x 2
MXL A55 Kicker
6 x drumdial drum triggers

Though my studio and the company I do live sound for I also have access to:
SE Electronics Titan
Oktava MK012
AKG C451B
AKG D112 x 2
AKG D40 x 4
AKG C430 x 2
Shure PG52
Shure PG56 x 3
Shure PG81 x 2
Shure SM58 x 5
Shure SM57 x 5
Sennheiser E609

Thinking about picking up some new stuff for guitars, maybe a E906 and a heil of some kind. Also looking at the new Ddrum Chrome triggers.

I'm really looking for something good for room mic situations as I've never been overly fussed for my AT4040 in that role. Any suggestions for something with switchable patterns?

Used to own a Beta 57, must get one of them or the Beta 56 again. Good mics.

Good selection of stuff so far.

Personal collection at the moment:

Audix D6
Audix i5 x2
CAD m179 x3
Beyer m160 x2
Joly modded Oktava mk-012 x2
Joly K47h LDC capsule
Sennheiser 421
Shure sm91

The mics at the studio where I moonlight:

Shure sm7b
Shure sm57 x4
Shure KSM32 x2
Sennheiser 421
Sennheiser 604 x4
Sennheiser 902
Sennheiser 609 x4
Oktava mk-012 x2
AKG 414 TLII

I would like to get my hands on some more higher end LDCs (or at least another K47h capsule) and a long diaphragm ribbon mic, but I'm pretty happy with the sounds I can get right now.

How do you rate the 545's compared to the 57's? I've been trying to understand if they're actually better or just different. And what about the beta 57 vs standard 57? I'm a bit gasing for both, and really can't make up my mind if it's worth it or not, if they could be useful to have a wider tonal palette...

Oh, btw, here's my list:

AKG 414 B-XL II
Audio Technica AT 4040
AKG C451 B 2x
AKG D112 2x
Audix i5 2x

Well my 545 sounds very different from my 57's. Honk city. Maybe It's a bad one. I don't know. Believe it or not, the 565 sounds much closer to a 57 albeit a bit thinner.

The beta doesn't sound very close to the sm57 either. It's a good snare mic but I think it's not very interesting on amps. It is usable but not my first choice.

12 of these.

Wait, haven't I posted this before?

We have a pretty great mic locker, very rarely feel like i'm wanting for something else although a few 121s and heils would definitely go down a treat,

I'm very minimal - I just borrow if I need something better or different.

Oktava MK-319
Oktava MK-012 x3 (one body is still broken though)
Shure SM7B
Shure SM57

I want to add a pair of cheap T-bone ribbons to my list next. Then maybe a M201 and/or a Heil PR30, because I'm bored with 57's on the snare. Overall though, I feel like I'm pretty well covered - for what I record anyway.

At the rehearsal space, we've got a bunch more mics I have access to, and occasionally use. There's at least these:
Shure Beta 52, Super 55
AKG D112, D5
Sennheiser e604, e609
SM57's and SM58's

2x ADK A51
1x AKG D112

3x Shure SM57
4x Sennheiser e604
1x Sennheiser e609

Trying to figure out what to get next. Still no ribbons in the collection...
