Michael Romeo the guitar chapter video

I don't think the guitar chapter is anything special. I've seen it, and it's fun to watch and all, but not really practical or useful, except for a few licks here and there. I think you can hear Romeo's craziest shit in most Symphony X songs!

Yeah Jaxx, just tell Mike the video is a great supplement to those of us who haven't seen him play live (especially on the west coast, well I saw him in SF). I would love to see a instructional series by him but too bad it's not like it was in the late 80's-early 90's when those vids flourished, Hell i think his would sell well in Japan STILL!

I actually like Romeo's idea a lot better! Something with advanced theory would be great, and ideas for constructing solos would be a lot better than Romeo playing all those solos we already know. Not to say it isn't god damn impressive to see him whip that stuff off effortlessly, it just doesn't help players out too much.

Thats where the Guitar Chapter is from, its by Young Guitar :D

And after seeing The Guitar Chapter and transcribing some of his solos its pretty easy to get the jist of the kind of licks he does, so I'd really enjoy seeing a video that was more about applying different scales and stuff. That would be really interesting and helpful.

I have the original, i bought it ONLINE, from JAPAN... i love this video, even if I really wish he'd do another where he talks more about his approach to writing and arranging... i think its great, and if you look around YOU CAN FIND THEM for sale online...

if anyone can wait until september, i will sell it to you then.
i have one copy

its a good video, but i think i have taken everything i can out of it. i remember i REALLY wanted it at one point. if it out of print and somebody here really wants it, i guess i could sell it to you in september. i feel bad if someone needs it and can't get it...so i can share the wealth

pm me if you are interested.

I don't like his video. It's just "and then I do like this - fidelly-didelly-didelly-do" and that's it. OK, if you already are advanced, but he's not very good at teaching. Compared to like Petrucci's video, which is more about understanding than "WOW, DUDE, YOU'RE REALLY FAST". But it's cool to watch. Once.

well...he DOES teach you how to do a sweep arpeggio from the beginning

it could use a little more detail, but i am almost sure even a beginnner could understand his explanation of how to do a sweep arpeggio.

i myself got a lot from his idea about string skipping and tapping on arpeggios, or tapping 7th arpeggios with one extra note...
some cool string skipping excercises

if it kept on in the same way..had a few more lessons and techniques, and went over his fills on rhythm guitar, i would be really happy with the video.

Does anyone know where can i find Michael Romeo's CD The Dark Chapter, where I can buy it or download, or yust a few songs? Please be so kind and answre me!
