They're good, listen to Pain, it's all mostly clean. His cleans aren't anywhere near as refined as Mike, Dan, or Christian from SS, but I really like them. There's various Hypocrisy songs with clean vocals too.

And yes, we're beating a dead horse that probably won't change anyone's mind.

I agree with Bleak Eyes actually on the black metal point.. I think that Peter would be a fucking amazing black metal vocalist. He hardly touches the area though unfortunately.

Still Peter's range is what sells me on him over Mikael. Mikael's growls have always sounded kind of lacking in terms of power. The first time I heard Mikael I actually was under the impression he was barely above speaking volume (watching studio diary stuff has semi-confirmed this for me). It just sounds kind of weak. Later albums with Mikael's vocals sound a bit more belted out but still doesn't sound as fierce as Peter.

It pretty much comes down to whether you like old school or modern vocals. Most people on this board are more old school (hence being on bloodbath's forums) but some of us folks joined in thanks to NMF like myself. haha

Of course this topic is beyond beating a dead horse, and more like holding it down and tearing its limbs off...

Both are good. Peter works better for hypocrisy but mike works better for Bloodbath. As I've said before, Mike can't do the Shreiks, but Peter can't do Mike's highs either. They have equally great styles, but Mike's suit Bloodbath better.

And listening to those samples just proves how much Mike dominates no matter what album he's performing.

No Mikael or Peter... This is correct -> Mikael AND Peter :D Cause both are great vocalist, I love NMF very much Peter did great job on it, and I think he's vocals suits Bloodbath, while Mike on UTP is a bit strange for me. Peter's clean vocals are great too, I like Pain very much. Mikael's vocals suits Opeth and prog stuff more..

I vote for peter because i think that peter uses a much larger variety of death guturals, mikael has some brutal grunts and stuff, but i personally like peter's better, i think his guturals sound much more brutal and if u look at them in a technical way, peter is a much better singer than mikael.

Fuck, what a decision. Before Unblessing The Purity, it would have easily been peter for me. But! after Mike's performance, it's incredibly hard for me to pick. I think I'll wait for the new Bloodbath and Hypocrisy albums to judge completely. Because obviously both are going to be at their fuckin' peaks on these next albums.

Bring it onnnnnnnn :kickass:

Peter is brutal as hell on the rerelease of Catch 22, it's the way it should have been in the first place. The main thing I didn't like about the original album was the vocals.

Tough one but I have to say Peter.
It's true that Mike's growls are deeper and more brutal but Peter's shrieks are fantastic. Peter also did a great job with NMF in terms of brutality of his growls. Just listen to Peter's shriek/scream in the end of 'Don't Judge Me' (the Catch 22 v2.0.08 version)...it's so brutal and extreme, you can even hear the saliva gurgling in his throat (very disgusting, now that I mention it...).

However, overall (clean voices included) Mike is a much better vocalist.

You CANNOT decide THAT. GTFO. QQ

Pete, by a long shot. sorrreeee miek.

As once said, Variety; and all the over dubbing bullshit that comes with it.

Still, if you were to say Mikael or Dave Mustaine. well... I don't think we'd have much of a challenge, now would we?

"Technically he's definitely competent."
technical? wtf.........

anyway..... RTC wasnt as good as NMF......but the orignal 3 track bloodbath EP was as good or better than NMF........and Peter singing "eaten" makes me lean more towards him......
also, peter's vocals are *not* more geared to melodic.......that's absurd. I think we'd have to hear peter try UTP before judging really. Overall I suppose it's a matter of taste as is all music. Until UTP i definitely prefer peter.

Any rational person would realize that Peter could easily pull of UTP, but now it's just a matter of whose style and sound you prefer more. Though you'll never how it would sound because it won't happen.
