Miscellaneous TV thread

I recommend checking out a bbc show called nighty nighty if you already haven't. It screened on the abc last year and was a very dark and awesome black comedy. It's on dvd now.

The shield is great too. To bad channel 10 fucked around with it's timeslot alot. It was cool seeing the warm friendly nice guy from the tv show the commish being a hard arse.

Smallville is ok to watch, I don't mind it but they have some cheesey plots. A few weeks back some sniper shot Clarke with a kryptonite bullet which he melted down and moulded over a camp fire. Now I ain't no rocket scientist but if a substance can stay together as a solid as it enters the earths atmosphere I thinks it's highly impossible it will turn too a liquid over a fire.
Ridiculous....ridiculous

OH! OH! OH!!! FIREFLY! I knew I forgot something! Holy shit...that's a slip of memory worth a kick in the sack over.

Fucking brilliant show :headbang: ...and it's only around 36 bucks for the whole boxset now.

Twas great hearing Rush at the end of Supernatural haha.

Another show that got a good 2am timeslot last year was called Jeramiah. Another fucking brilliant sci-fi drama type thing. And I mean...the two main stars were Luke Perry and Malcom Jamahl-Warner :headbang: Dylan from 90210 and Theo Huxtable...that's a recipe for pure awesomeness! :kickass: Also, season 2 had Sean Astin in it...he was awesome.

Do we have any Firefly fans in the house? Those of you willing to waste time on the new Battlestar Galactica and various Stargate shows would do well to see how space opera should be done. Pity they only made 14 episodes before getting the chop, but the whole lot's out on DVD now so you've got no excuses. Off you go...

Supernatural this week was more of the same, but the Rush song at the end was a nice touch :headbang:

Still don't like him. Even the setting is wrong. I don't know what it's called in english, but in spanish it's called Ciudad Gótica (Gothic City). Now, Ciudad Gótica is just another american city where it's seemingly always night and where every night there's some criminal doing things. But in reality "Gothic City" (Göteborg) is a city in Sweden where it's not always night and which probably doesn't have as much crime as american cities.

See? The guy who invented Batman didn't get a single thing right. ;)

Night is so much more brooding and evil than pretty lovely daytime and thats what batman is all about. Besides a big bloke in a black bat suit would stand out quite a bit during the day and he does have a day job to do as well.

Gotham City

A fictional city modeled primarily after New York City, it is Bruce Wayne's home and Batman's base of operation. In early Batman comics, he was located in New York City; "Gotham" is in fact a nickname for New York. Gotham is generally thought to be located on the northeast coast, and is located in New Jersey in several sources. Its architecture is tall and Gothic, but it suffers from urban blight. It is generally portrayed as dirty, crime-ridden, and corrupt, in stark contrast to the bright, clean, futuristic feel of Superman's Metropolis. Thomas and Martha Wayne were gunned down in Crime Alley, formerly Gotham's ritzy Park Row but now a slum.

Yes, in ENGLISH it's Gotham City, but obviously according the UndoControl's post (at least to me) if you translate the Spanish of where Batman lives it comes out to Gothic City. Which is all I'm saying.
