The first time I heard the song operation:mindcrime I thought Geof Tate was saying a racial slur.Let me explain. You know that one part that goes "Hey Nikki! You know everything that there is to do" I used to think he was saying "Hey Nigga! you know everything.....". This happen to anyone else before?

dude I thought he was saying that toooo!!!!HAHAHAHAHA :loco:

I swear there is one part in Cruelty brought thee orchids where he says "You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself about", I also knew someone who thought "Heat of The Moment" by Asia, that John Wetton was saying "We are the Mormons"

Oh dear, along those lines I used to think that the line "a lead role in a cage", in the Pink Floyd song "Wish You Were Here", said "a Negro in a cage". I was so sure PF had something really wrong with them! :ill:

In the prog-metal world, there's one place on "The Silent Man" where I keep thinking LaBrie is singing "Light years away" instead of "Tonight he's awake". I was very surprised to see the real thing in the lyrics sheet--I REALLY thought he was saying what I heard!

And don't even start on Blind Guardian. I love Nightfall, but some of the songs, until you get really used to them, are one big misheard lyric. I'm getting a better ear for it now, though. ;)

Here's my Opeth misheard-lyric...it's really rather unfortunate, in such a good song...

Instead of "I turn round to see what was meant to be"

I keep hearing the word "pee". But I think he really DOES pronounce it that way!

My favorite misheard lyric is in a Vintersorg song called ESP Mirage. Theres a line thats supposed to be "I intersect the shining pulsator" and it sounds like he's saying "I intersect the shining potato".

There was this one from Shadow Gallery, I don't remember the name, that says "Tanned paper, poisoned letters, bloody skies". I thought it said "Tanned papers, poisoned lettuce..." :)

@gavin+wayne, there is really no reason to argue, as the word "viking" means pirate in Nordic. Therefore we can conclude that viking=pirate.

We weren't arguing

I think viking are cooler, just i'm in a Pirate metal band so i have to say otherwise :lol::lol:

here another opeth one is :

towards the end of windowpane he says :
His hand is waving a goodbye
There's no response or action returned

i could've swore he said "erection returned"!!!!

i still laugh when he says it.
