The only modern sympnic BM band I know of is Alghazanth, haven't really listened to much by them yet though. As for death:

I guess the title of this thread is misleading- I meant symphonic black and symphonic blackened death.

These two albums I would classify as Symphonic Blackened Death Metal, which satisfies both your desires at once. The latter album is pure Anthems worship. I would recommend the band's most recent album, Neuthrone, but it's lost most of the symphonic elements for industrial synths and a greater focus on the death metal aspect.

Kataxu - Hunger of Elements
Metal Arhcives says it's a "National Socialist Black Metal" band but...that seems more like a theme than a musical style to me and what I've listened to so far has been very symphonic and I can't find any NS themes in their lyrics :/ Anyways, I'm really liking this album a lot :]
