Just for more props on the i5.

Warning - this is NOT a numetal/5150/scoopy mid/chunko tune.. It's just ballz out mid heavy brown Marshall with a fairly gay riff.. I happen to LIKE this sound - in addition to also being a hardcore, longtime blackmetal/deathmetal fan as well... I love to throw down on my Engls and shit too but the Marshall is just a signature sound.

This is the i5 with nothing else... it IS an SM57 slayer, for sure. And please dont mind the drums.. they are throwaway GM acting as click until I bust out with DFHS.

I love it!!

yup the consensus on the net seems to be just that - an SM57 with more low end... But I still love my SM57 :D make no mistake though the audix is surely a GREAT mic. better than the e609 IMO, the latter being too scooped sounding.

cool riff btw, groovy. dunno if it's yours though :)

I picked up an i5 and a D6 here in San Fran yesterday to try out on a session when I get back to the UK, I tried it out in the store on snare and for the price (I got mine for $80) I think the i5 is a great addition to any mic cabinet.

The i5 just has a larger, more pronounced "proximity effect" than the 57 does - which yeilds bigger lows. However, you dont want a ton of lows in a guitar.. I cut everything from 80hz and down.. that's where bass goes.

In any event, the i5 to ME, just mauls the 57 for guitar cabs.
