anyone have any idea about troubleshooting solid state amps?

a long shot i guess, i don't know if there really are any electronics/amp nerds here

i have a marshall 5203 master reverb 30 combo amp that i quite like, but it died a while back when we were playing bass through it (lol) and now it doesn't power on at all, light doesn't come on, no sound etc.

i opened it up, and it has a fuse, but it is intact. what else should i check? possibly the mains transformer i guess? if it was something in the preamp section, the amp would turn on but make no sound, am i right? i am a bit of an idiot when it comes to electronics

i found the schematics

I have an Macbook Bro with Logic but nothing else, can someone assist me on what else I need? Definitely the cheapest but not shitty options please

what do you need? 1 channel, many channels? mic preamps, no preamps? guitar input, line input, midi, what?

i have heard good stuff about apogee's stuff for mac:

one of these may work for you depending on what you want to do

i fixed it, amp works great again

haha that rules. I was going to say "look for something small that probably blew up" but that's shitty advice. But it's happened to my stuff before so there you go.

I have no need for something like this but they are SO FUCKING COOL that I want one. I say "oh this would be great for acoustic coffee house gigs" and that is true.

The only problem is the only time I play coffee house gigs is for LOUD n' NOISY RAWK NIGHT, never done acoustic anything really. So it would be Fer Fun and that's it.

One time I played a coffee house train station depot thing on an outside patio. It was that multi-member jazz/fusion/noise/improv thing, every 15 minutes a train would fly by, blow its horn at us, and we'd hope to still be somewhere near the same beat 30 seconds later when the train had past.

We set up outside, literally 15 feet from the train tracks. That gig was fucking COOL.

True dat yo.

I could totally do all I need with one bass and a fuzz pedal, wouldn't even need an amp as long as a PA is there (usually is).

EDIT: Fuckit, sell it all, pay off the cars, scrounge together leftover change and get me one of these:

practice amp. It's basically the Eminence version of the Celestion Gt75
Going to use it with that new Randall RG13 pedal

If I were you I would go for an AMT pedal of some sort this guy from sevenstring.fags seems to like them and they sound beast https://soundcloud.com/themammonmachine

The marshall cabs I've played with those speakers were absolutely terrible sounding, eminence make some great speakers though.

na im going after that RG13 pedal. Sounds awesome on the Randall vids. Also has a 1watt poweramp built in. Will be perfect for practicing.
