Best amp ever holy shit. I don't know why I've waited 8 months to finally get it fixed. Probably gonna sell one of the Mesas when it returns home.

^^best of luck to your amp.
Im torn between the fixd fuzz delux and the musket fuzz. Im leaning toward the fixd fuzz dlx but damn its close...

Regarding the synth, if I get a midi keyboard and download some VST's how is that different from using the synth that is one package? Won't the MIDI keyboard and Synth keyboard be plugged in the same way?

i'm suggesting you buy a midi controller, which does not contain any synth circuitry or sound in and of itself. it just controls plugin synths, of which there is a massive amount of free and paid ones, so your possibilities are endless

the korg is a hardware synthesizer which does have actual synth sounds of its own, which you could record onto your computer with its line-out, OR you could use it as midi keyboard in the same way outlined above

so the hardware synth is actually a more flexible choice, but what i'm saying is i don't think you need to spend that kind of money for what you need. you can get a decent midi keyboard for less than a hundred bux.

Erik I bet you could have fixed some of the Trace problems, but this one concerned me: Last time it happened it shocked the shit out of my left hand and my right hand tingled. Arc across my heart LOL, YOLO, etc.

yeah anytime you're dealing with 120V (or 230V in my case), you'd best leave that shit to a pro, good call

100$? Now your suggestion makes sense

I think ill do that.

yeah those are some really frickin cheesy synth strings

i can recommend this: http://www.korg.com/Legacym1

the m1 was a sampling synthesizer introduced in the late eighties, it has all these really lush and lo-fi (by today's standards) pads and strings and such

i use it a lot (when i use synthesizer (i don't usually use synths because i like heavy rocking rock))

ts9 is great

had one, got stolen, bought a bad monkey to replace it

it is even greater

My 2 month old amp died. Its got power, fuses are fine, etc. but it wont turn on. And I bought it in the States so I dont have warranty. Fuck.

What settings are best for those?
Having the drive turned down, tone at 12 'oclock, level....?

well the standard practice for using it to tighten up modern metal tones is to keep the drive at 0, tone at somewhere close to 12 o clock, and level to taste (some keep it dimed, it depends on how much gain you want and what amp you have)

the idea is not to let the tube screamer distort but to use it to shape the tone (it tightens up flubbery low-end real well) and overdrive the preamp of your tube amp

sucks. is it a tube amp? i would try removing and reseating the output tubes, but beyond that i have no idea.

cool thanks man.
I'll check it out tomorrow when I get home.
For now im going to St. Louis to watch the Blues

Electrocuted myself (230v not that sissy american 100v) but I got the thing going again. Theres a little plastic thing that holds one of the fuses. Well that thing needs to be permanently pushed into the amp another half mm or so or the fuse wont touch the contacts. A little paper and duct tape fixed it. I also found out that my pliers have a small hole in the rubber insulation. Holy shit....

Einride: yeah its an Egnater Tweaker 15 watt. Its awesome as long as its not trying to get me killed.

Refraction you should try a warranty claim anyhow. Unless they are dicks hopefully they'll hook you up, or at least help you out. Unless, of course, it's an Ampeg. Those guys are jerks.

EDIT: That's what happens when I hit reply 10 minutes later. Personally I don't consider it a real amp unless it tries to kill you. Fo' shizzy though, tube amps can melt your heart. Pretty neat really, but still worth avoiding.

Yeah ill probably see if theyll send me a replacement bit. I mean its only this little plastic thing thats defective and through the miracle that is duct tape it works again but still.
