I'll admit this, Black Label Society's "Bullet Inside Your Head" reminds me of some of the best times of my life - fifteen years old, sat in my mate's metal-as-fuck house, blasting that song, smoking weed, drinking beers, playing guitar, feeling fucking incredible and not giving a flying fuck about the world.

1.) Death - "Pull The Plug" - listened to the entire Leprosy album everyday when I was in Afghanistan. 'Pull the Plug' sticks out for me because I remember, to the exact second in the song, the afternoon when I experienced my first mortar attack because I was in my tent, listening to the song on my laptop. Weird, eh?
2.) Electric Wizard - 'Funeralopolis' - this song sticks out for me because I listened to this album quite a bit during the army and it would put me in an incredibly fucked-up state of mind for days on end and would turn everything into a daze for me. I remember being out on foot patrol and being able to play the entire album in mind, just on cue from memory. Now, match that up with walking through Taliban territory, over mountain ranges for days and days on end. Throw in an incredibly alien culture from what I was used to and it creates this incredibly surreal mental condition for a person to exist in.

Imagine listening to this in the middle of summer, with a bunch of metal-as-fuck buddies in a metal-as-fuck room, getting stoned, drinking bers and having a fucking blast. I'd do anything to relive that.
