I posted this on the DT.NET site and thought I would do the same here. I am not as up on some of the new prog-met axeman out there a I would like to be.... my 16 yr old son helps me alot...turned me on to SX....but as an elder statesmen who has seen many a band in his day...here it goes...hope you like it.

I'm new to the board. Thought I would post my top 20 fave Guitar albums in no particular order. I'm sure this has been done many times here, but I'm interested in what other listen to. Not meant to be a contest or Battle of the Bands ...just curious and would like to see if others listen to a diverse mix such as this.

Joe Satriani:Surfing with the alien.
Racer X(Paul Gilbert)
Symphony X:all
Y. Malmsteen:ALL

instead of just mentioning the same bands and albums as all of you, I thought I'd take the time to share an incredible yet virually unknown guitarist named Dave Martone. He took lessons from Joe Stump :OMG: , so soulshred, you know he's good. He is extrememly diverse, which usually scares me into thinking I'll only like a few songs, but he even makes country music into a shred-tacular style. Download some demo Mp3s off of amazon.com
I think the band is just called Martone. Get the albums A Demon's Dream and Zone. they both rock a lot.
