finished these guys ep last week,
band : www.myspace.com/letthemfail

song starts at 0:32 if you dont wanna wait ;-)
i did this as their single, so the mix is very vocal heavy. they have 3 singers btw. production was done by me (including the intro, synths etc.).

i think it turned out rahter catchy, band loves this tune.
hope you guys dig it.

btw. these guys play at the logo 13th of august in hamburg (record release party), i think lasse will play there with his band rarefaction!

that is perfect... beyond amazing. the guitars are out of this world, and what snare did you use?

thanks mate ;-)

i know the video is very chlichee, haha. being the producer,
i had little to say this time.

well guitars are tada : podfarm, :-)
i had lolzgreg reamp the tracks, but the video had to be released earlier than initially planned, so i did not get to use those tracks (i loved them, greg!).
now its of course podfarm. i still get the best tones out of podfarm for this kind of music. my axe fx is still too complex for me, im still learning that thing.

snare is superior 2.0 GMS (if i remember correctly) combined with 2 slate snares (i think it was slate custom + sn 7)
this is actually an edrum performance, the drummer was pretty good (and hes only 16 years old, haha).

You posted this song a while ago, it was allready an awesome production back then!
The Vid is also very nice!
Good work again Danny!

haha, sorry. yeah i know. i just thought id share the video,
as im quiet astonished what look you can achieve today with only 300€...
well of course everyone worked for free on this video,
they were all film students.

well thank you mago!! appreciate it!

Sounds killer man. I think the snare/kick are a bit too clicky, too much attack and not enough body/sustain. The vocal production on this, however, is insane! Gj!

:Spin: thanks. i somehow think vocal production is one of my strengths.
most people mention that. whats cool is that vocal production for the general listener will probably be the most important part of production.

i know what you mean with the clickiness. ive gotten more into bendeth style snares lately, my future productions will have meatier snares and kicks,
more rock style. i jsut did some custom samples i will use on my next productions. love that underoath snare...

Really good job on the production. I'll agree about the snare being too clicky, there's a particular snare break in the song where this really shows and maybe it even sounds a little mechanical. Maybe it was just me but at the bit around 3:20 there's a pathetic attempt at brutal vocals by one of the singers.

The video is quite good considering the price. A little cliche like you said but not enough to make it annoying.

thanks man!

yeah, im not a fan of this type of clichee stuff at all, haha.
but i think its ok for the kids ;-)

iguess the clickyness also comes from the ozone mastering,
i never loved that thing. it made transients a little too harsh. but
then again im happy with the whole master, love the clarity
etc. i got into this one. its aa little sterile (again because of ozone)
but overall i think this serves the song, as its vocal driven and the
vocals really stand out.

I like the moody beginning. It looked like it will be much more interesting (and expensive) from there. Apart from that - pretty good editing I think. It's fast but the shots don't seem random.

I think the video is cool. It certainly makes the band seem professional to the public. I've seen plenty of half assed attempts at music videos that just make the band look terrible.

You did a great job on the song as well man. Although some people say there are things wrong with it, you cant get everything perfect to everyones taste and I think it serves the song very well. Congrats!
