Throughout my short life-time, I have had the chance to meet a lot of people who I have personally dubbed as heroes, or influences in my life. From being a person involved in professional wrestling, I have met my fair share of people I have looked up to and admired. While on the other hand with music as my second love, I have also had the chance to meet a fair share of people who I would put in the same category.

Then in 2003, I managed to stumble upon an enigmatic spirit known as Vintersorg and his many projects and I have been hooked ever since. Through his musical creations and various interviews I have read he has become one of my idols, one of my heroes and one of my inspirations. As time went by it soon became apparent to me that out of the people still living on this planet, Mr. V is the one that I would honestly like to meet the most. Even if just for a brief conversation and a picture to immortalize the moment, I would be satisfied. Oddly enough, since turning my girlfriend onto Vintersorg, she is fast on the road to falling into the very same path that I am now on.

I await the time for Mr. V to step foot back on United States soil and relatively close to my proximity so I can finally fulfill this quest I am on. Obscene or obscure, one day I must shake his hand.

I was born too late to meet Nikola Tesla and Hunter S. Thompson died before I ever had the chance, but in my lifetime I want just the mere chance to meet the notorious Andreas Hedlund.

Just like most on here, we all want to meet him and talk to him in person. It would a good time. Best bet, go to sweden and maybe you'll get lucky.

Somewhere in my future plans is to go to Europe, just to hit the festivals. However, if I go to Skellefteå am I just supposed to stand on his front lawn and scream until he comes out? Haha...

MR. V!! HEY!! HEY!! ARE YOU HOME!?! HEY!! VINTERSORG!!...HEY!! HEY!!!...ANDREAS?! IS ANYBODY HOME?!

maybe
if you don't scare him to death, he might also open the door :)

or....easily you can go to a borknagar show. 3 shows are planned for the end of september, one in hamburg, which I suppose is more beautiful than skellefteå (never been to skellefteå but i fear there's nothing really interesting to see, even if there're surely less spiders than in hamburg :ill:) so you can have also a trip of the city :)

Skellefteå is mostly just a small industrial town in the boondocks, it's not exactly like going to Rome or Paris hehe. That's a problem if you're just going there to meet Mr V, because if you're planning on doing something more in Sweden you're likely to stay in Stockholm, and you can't just make a day trip to Skellefteå from Stockholm, since it's like a 9 hour drive there.

Being unemployed in Middle America makes it next to impossible to make any type of a European trip in the forseeable future. I am really hoping on Borknagar coming over sometime.

sorry to break your dream, but by now they don't tour even the south of europe...so :erk:

Well, Borknagar did do a US tour...ten years ago and Mr. V has done those Metalfest things. So, I can keep my hopes up.

you have used the right word "ten years ago"
now they seldom tour, because they have families, kids, jobs, and many other project (musical or not).
but let's see what happens in the future...i might be wrong, i mean, i would be happy too if they start again to do concerts around europe and the world, scandinavia is far also for me ;)

They will tour in 2029 when the kids have flown out of the nest, they're bored with their job career and in a midlife crisis( look at Europe).

Until then stalkers are advised to mind their own business.

Yeah. Milwaukee Metalfest. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

Wanna hear sad? I was born in Milwaukee, and lived nearby when Vintersorg played those metalfests. Yet, I didn't go - for I had no idea who he was. In fact, I never went to any of the metalfests, because at the time no one interesting was playing. :zombie: Yeah, well, how times change...

(My dad still lives there, and I go back to visit occasionally. Bella's Fat Cat Custard on Brady St. FTW.)

please, don't you speak about sad things !!!
i was in wacken open air when he did play, and had no idea who he was too

A guy I know apparently was at Andreas' house the week before Wacken or something. He works in a shop so I think he was there to pick up some merch.

Eh, I'm over it. It's more like a 'gee, that would have been neat' feeling, and not a 'I missed the opportunity of a lifetime Oh God NO!!!!!!!!' feeling.

I live in northern Illinois, so I always go to concerts at The Rave. At that time however, I was living in Iowa. I'm more of a Culver's man than a Fat Cat Custard though, haha...

OMG CULVER'S!!! I totally forgot about them!

(This thread is no longer about Andreas Hedlund - sorry Andreas.)

You are right - Culver's beats Fat Cat. Namely, because they also had those horribly addicting Butter Burgers. I'm sure my arteries hate me, but my taste buds made up for it! (For the record, a Butter Burger is a burger with butter cooked into it. Us Midwesterners are complex when it comes to our food.) I even had the Culver's Monthly Custard Flavor calendar on my fridge.

Wait. Now thinking back, in the Till Fjälls booklet, it states in the thanks list: "Old William's Pub(my second home)".
Perhaps the shop or the pub. Surely, it will be in Skellefteå or I would imagine so.

Better luck for you, my friend!

The Butter Burger sounds good. Must try that some day, but I don't like custard, so no not that.

But you can take a flight from Stockholm to Umeå and take a bus.. or I guess you could probably fly to Skellefteå, though I've never tried that.

On the other hand, Mr. V seems to like his privacy. I somehow doubt he'd be really stoked to have someone showing up on his doorstop. Just a thought.
