Mystery Show Revealed (SOLD-OUT)

sonovabitch.

figures... I forgot this was today, and I forgot to get tix, and it's Jon Fucking Oliva, The Man, aka One Of My Favorite Musicians Ever.

guess there's no point in coming in on Wednesday for me.

I had a whole bunch of shit to take care of today, and thought that I might not be able log on in time to get one of the small number of tickets. Now, I am a Savatage and Jon Oliva's Pain fan, and an acoustic performance by Jon Oliva does sound fun, and I will attend if I can find someone selling a ticket (otherwise, I'll probably be at Cheetah's with Chris F5, heh!). Still, to me this isn't the mega-event that it seems to be for some here who are huge Oliva fans.

However, this does raise an interesting question... is it still logical for people who don't have tickets for the Oliva show to come in on Wednesday? I mean, I still will, if only because I know a lot of people who are arriving on Wednesday, and also because I could sure as fuck use an extra day of vacation anyway, heh. Still, Wednesday has previously been just a "hang out and bullshit" night, with some karaoke thrown in. Does this Oliva show essentially replace that, or is there still karaoke and hanging out at some point? If so, what are the timings of the Oliva show?

I think from what I gather that the karaeoke/hang out part will be after the John Oliva show(and when a lot of people will be hitting the Cheetah afterwards,as Wed night has traditionally been the Cheetah club night). It seems that there are way more than usual comming in on Wednesday becasue of this(I come in because I ride in with a buddy of mine, the extra day of vacation/hanging with the gang).I think I'm beginning to think that a lot of the regular early arivals did not get tickets either from what I'm reading on other MBs)
Looks like us unlucky ones have to find something else to do,which probably means I'll be spending more $$$ at the Cheetah now

Wednesday was a crapshoot for me to come in. The way my job is right now (We are short 250-300 people in my title in my division as it is) I will be lucky to get of to see ProgPower, never mind Jon Oliva. Enjoy, guys.

Peace,
Ray C.

Doors will be open for Karaoke at no charge after the Oliva show ends. He starts at 8pm and plays as long as he wishes.

So hypothetically speaking, based on Oliva's set length and the time it takes to get karaoke set up, we may be looking at a considerably shorter karaoke evening that in years past? Just wondering, because for those unable to get tickets, this may factor into whether or not its worth coming down on Wed.

Although as Rifkin has pointed out, there is always the Cheetah club.

I will Guess John will go till 10 PM,take 15 minutes for him to break down.
Hopefully the Karaeoke guy is already set up and ready to go,or else I can see Karaeoke starting at 11.
I ned a ticket

Damn, Dave, I hope you got tickets. Couldn't do it from Europe. Otherwise we gonna be playing quarters on the porch of the Granada. :(

Do you think we could get the Mountain King to join us in the embarrassment? What I wouldn't give to do a karaoke duet with him! If all else fails, I need to top my Rick Astley performance from last year.

Stay metal. Never rust.

That sounds like fun too!........................................................................

NOT!

(Babs proving that you are never too old to be immature)

Sorry, Orbweaver!
I doubt that's on any karaoke list. I would absolutely do it if it was, though. Don't worry. I have some other tricks up my sleeve.
