name your fav things about your fav artist

Sinkadus-The riffs! Where else can you find such oddness in beauty?

Ulver-They pretty much cover the whole spectrum of music that I like, and they do it nearly flawlessly. Garm's voice is amazing, and they released "Themes..", which is more than enough to forever put them in the elite of musicians in my mind.

Opeth-Great riffs, lots of variety in their songs, and an uncanny ability to create extremely touching melodies.

DITTO let me add that theyre very, very down to earth guys as well..

Mr. Bungle- just amazing musicianship, humor etc.
Frank Zappa- same as above
shit, there are so many artists who I feel are a huge part of my life.. I would be here for days listing them all..

n/p- Youthanasia- Megadeth

Opeth - their acoustic passages.. and ability to play with a song and to form it and shape it until you get to a state of musical bliss... I love those moments!
Dream Theater - the melody.. the epic moments!
A Perfect Cirle - Maynard Keenan's vocals and his style.. same goes for Tool, but more so in APC...

Opeth - A perfect mixture of death metal and acoustic music.

Dissection - awesome guitar riffs... as simple as that.

Cynic - their sound is a kind of death metal which suddenly breaks into progressive/jazz. Incredible musicianship. For those who like sophisticated music. Just listen to their album called "Focus" and you'll know what i mean.

Opeth - The emotion, the melanchollie, the riffs, Mikael's voice, the atmosphere.

Dream Theater - The song structure, John Petrucci, and Mike Portnoy, the musicianship.

Porcupine Tree - Steven Wilson, the lyrics, arrangements, the phychadelia, the emotion, the melodies.

Dissection - The perfect blend between beauty, agression and hatred.Amazing vocals and guitar melodies by Nodtveidt.Untouchable..

At the Gates - The riffs, vocals and sheer agression..

The Crown - The speed they play at,the drumming..

I love everything about all these bands.Exceptions being those things listed in another thread..

Stabbing Westward - No band has ever been able to touch me more than them, and their music has helped me through some of the hardest times of my life, and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Opeth - Heavy, mellow, progressive, unstructured, structured, emotional, metal... you name it and Opeth have done it... their style is such a 'well of genres' (as Mikael puts it) that I believe I will never ever get bored of them...

Meshuggah - It's very simple... Just listen to New Millenium Cyanide Christ... if that doesn't drill through your brain like a screwdriver, then nothing will. Ultimate rhythmic metal... godly even. Also... their lyrics.
