Name your favorite Evergrey

You nugs are all crazy... well all except the ones that agree with me that is.
In Search of Truth is, BY FAR, the best Evergrey... followed by The Inner Circle as a distant second. This is why it pisses me off when they only play one or two songs from it... and shortened versions at that. But what can ya do with only 30 minutes I guess? Maybe cut a few songs from Monday Morning Apoclypse... which, unfortunately, is their weakest.

I agree with Bear, RECREATION DAY is their most diverse...if SDT ahd the same production of THE INNER CIRCLE thn SDT would be my favorite.

If I have to name one, I'd say it would be Recreation Day. Probably because it's their heaviest album. Heaviest being guitar riffing-heavy, before anyone jumps on me about the 'true' meaning of heavy.

IMHO though, ISOT is VERY, VERY close. The subject matter (It's not really about alien abduction. It's about a person who BELIEVES they are the victim of alien abduction.) is very powerful and evocative. What tips the balance toward TIC for me though is the production. TIC has much better production. ISOT sounds just a touch muddy to me.
I don't really care for SDT. It and MMA are both decent metal albums, but IMO, they don't show what Evergrey is really capable of producing. They are more straightforward power metal CDs with fewer progressive elements. YMMV.

The best I can do is pick two: In Search Of Truth (specifically because it has The Masterplan and Mark of the Triangle) and Solitude Dominance Tragedy (because it has Solitude Within and She Speaks to the Dead.)

S*D*T, ISoT, and Dark Discovery....partly because it was the first EG I was ever able to buy. They were allll out of S*D*T at ProgPower Europe that year. Went in not knowing who they were; left a fan.

So far I'm diggin' Solitude*Dominance*Tragedy the most, because it seems to have thrash elements in it, along with prog elements. Ooops, there's that word "prog" again!
