Need an amp !!

I just moved in from France to college here in the U.S. I am starting a band and I really need an amp. I need something good and loud enough to cover drums and do gigs. It can be a combo or a head+ 2x12 cab. I can spend about 1500 dollars, It has to be tube and I am willing to buy old. I need a really good distorted sound that is clear for chords but has enough gain for lead (I will be using my ts-808), and I need a clean chanel.

1500 dollars is a generous budget, if it's not a space issue, then you can easily get a 4x12. Shit, you've got loads of choices...

$1,500US? Fucking 5150 and a 2x12 cabinet. Done. I used a Marshall JCM900 1936 2x12 for a long time with my 5150 live and it sounded really good. The cab comes with two G12-T75s, I switched one of them out for a V30 and that made it sound great. Or you could score a 2x12 Mesa used somewhere I'm sure, those are great as well.
