NEVERMORE ARE COMMININNNGGG

Oh well. As much as I love Nevermore, I know where my allegiances lie. Plus, it won't be that much of an effort to go to the all ages show on Friday and then head to Canberra the next day. It's not as if MFTB has too much choice about when they hold their show. By all accounts, it was originally planned for November 4, but at the time the date wasn't available, so they moved it to September. Now, if they'd never announced the September date and advertised November 4 right from the start, who's fault would it be then? This is unfortunate, but at least with a show on the Friday as well, people can still go to both if they want.

The thing I've found about alot of underage kids is that they will constantly bitch and moan about not being allowed into gigs... but then promoters go out of their way to let them in, and they just don't turn up

For example... Metal For Skott. I counted 6 kids upstairs

It's a marketing problem. Kids don't hang out in pubs with the mates, so there's very little word of mouth when it comes to the promotion of gigs. Perhaps none.

Furthermore, they need permission. "Hey mum.. I'm going to see Slayer tonight, but don't worry! It's an 'all ages' gig. See ya later." I don't think so.

thats true
the only metal gig i ever went to underage was opeth, and that was like a month before my 18th. The fact is that many underage kids cant, as Sydo said, get permission to go, or just dont.

One thing i have noticed since attending gigs on a regular basis is that there is very few people there who are under 21, at least thats what ive noticed. And it sucks balls because its hard to meet people there who you can chat to and arrange to go to other gigs together

There isnt much word of mouth really, unless you are in the scene and going to gigs week in week out, you tend to lose touch of whose playing then because it is hard to find out sometimes
