I think the stylistic differences on each of the album with two gutiarists can be put down to their influence and writing.

Politics saw a very heavy direction
Dreaming saw dissonance
After that is was mainly Loomis and now on TGE Smyths style came through a little.

well i find it interesting that everyone mentions POE and DNB as their fave albums. Considering Jeff did not write those albums alone its interesting. Especially the fact that everyone here tears DHIADW apart aswell as EOH, Jeff wrote those albums on his own.

So does this mean Jeff needs help to write songs? Does it mean if they dont get a 2nd guitarists the rest of the albums will suffer due to jeff enjoying "feeding" off other guitarists ?

I surely hope not.
