Nevermore Ruined Metal for me

If I ever feel like listening to heavy metal there is no other choice, but Nevermore. Nothing in the metal genre comes close to the greatness. I mean the lyrical themes really get you thinking. Every song is like a huge story, which keeps it interesting. So many bands these days with nothing to say. The musicianship is not only phenomenal, but soulful. You have heavy grooves, melodies, relentless riffage, searing solos. Another thing, which amazes me is I find the falsetto range to be cheesy in this kinda music. But warrel has passion in his voice, and sounds downright psychotic sometimes. He reminds me of the mad hatter in a fucked up alice in wonderland. Fucking with your perception of reality. Ballads in this music are also for the most part cheesy, but nevermore has some of if not the best ballads out there that rival their best songs.

I've listened to metal for a long time. I've listened to my fair share son.

Iced Earth, Testament, Meshuggah, Pantera, SYL, Megadeth, Children Of Bodom... the list goes on. Nevermore is up top, but i DO take the time to appreciate other bands.
