I heard the same damn ones in the Enemies remaster, and Deliverance, and basically everything else he's done in the last few years. He makes every band he mixes sound exactly the same as all of the others he's done. Fucking hack. I remember the powerful sound of Dreaming Neon Black. Gone.
which is called an absence of production.Random Beard said:I think maybe he likes production like found in Black Metal albums.

for fuck's sake.. how presumptuous! i recently spent 5 weeks with Andy and got the chance to study up close,, in the Pro Tools files.. a few of his latest productions and question him in person, about his techniques..... he uses different samples all the time... and often created from the drummer's own kit, as with the new Arch Enemy, or just uses the recorded acoustic drums with no samples at all, like with the toms on Deliverence, thank you very much... the whole time i was there Andy experimented with new techniques. there is one thing that is always the same about his productions however.. QUALITY. not knocking Kernon at all for the job on DNB.. great album.. but if you can't hear the difference between Andy's albums then it's a problem with YOUR ears, not Andy's productions... i can hear the differences... easily... it's plain as day. if you can't, then you should consider developing your ear a bit further before you criticize a man who is on top of his game and at the pinnacle of his field.... a height that is NEVER attained by hacks. this business is simply not that forgiving. And by the way, Dreaming Neon Black has kick samples on it.. the kick sound is identical on every hit, Neal just mixes kick lower than Andy... but that doesn't make them any less a sample, or at the very least "sample enhanced"...and even though i appreciate NK's work, i much prefer the solid, pummeling, and in-control low end in Andy's productions.Agalloch said:How about the lame fake ass drum samples used by Andy Sneap.
