You don't like the production...well, yes, I can see it non-comparable to, say, a Mayhem CD or an old Venom (who I love, don't get me wrong), but you are obviously a misguided youth not at all undersdtanding of "true" metal and what is good and what's not. This CD will finally show the rest of the world what Seattle has to offer...Nevermore are now kings of US Metal, and that's a fact!

i havent heard the new album yet, but dead heart and enemies ,while great albums, dont feel as dark as Politics. they sound great, but the overall atmosphere is a little better on Politics IMO...

I DID read the post, and what I ANALYSED from the post is that Agalloch is a hypocrite. He complains about someone's production job when it's likely he couldn't produce his way out of his own ass. So I simply challenged him to reproduce the album the way he thinks it should sound. After doing that his opinion might be taken more seriously.

Agreed. I have no problem with someone not liking bands I'm into; I've been dealing with that shit since 1980, big deal! However, the armchair producers all want to voice how terrible a job Sneap "for example) did for this CD when they themselves couldn't prodce a fart much less a CD. You're entitled to your opinion, but when you know not of which you speak you must expect backlash...and why come onto a board for a certain band and bash said band? What sense is there in that?

could you please explain in detail why the production sux? I don't want to cap on you but in all seriousness your disliking for ther production is something I can't grasp without a reasonable explanation...in my view it's perfect aside from some of the drumming sounding a bit mechanical (and I acknowledge that)

that's the problem with accepting what poeple like this say..... they don't express it as an opinion. he's outright saying that the production sucks, not that he thinks it sucks. this approach alienates others who don't think it "sucks". it doesn't suck, not by a longshot. if YOU don't like it, then i have no problem with you saying, "hey, i don't like it". but you don't do that.... you just state that it sucks. the inference being that everyone who likes it is wrong.. like it or not, that's the inference... it's the inference i take, and it's the inference everybody else here clearly takes.

this is all opinion, and you are welcome to yours. but since you have 0 credentials as a recording engineer and have shown 0 samples of your work that could demonstrate how it could have been done better, or shown any reason at all why you are Mr. Golden Ears that hears more accurately than anyone else here ( ), don't take it too hard if you don't manage to change anyone else's mind.
