Nevermore vocals

I can't understand why they don't get themselves a new singer, the songs are so depressing with this singer and they don't fit the music at all, would be a better metal band without him. What do you guys think?

i used to think that but now im a huge fan and the vocals fit perfectly in a non perfect way IMO, sometimes it just clashes against everything thats going on but if you read the lyrics its all about people going crazy and shit so it makes sense.

Warrell Dane is one of the greatest melodic metal singers of all time, his voice suits Nevermore's music perfectly, uh.. It's HIS band, and he hasn't left, he's doing a solo album while they look for a second guitarist, and Jeff Loomis is doing a solo album.

What i'm saying is that alot of people presume them to be a power metal band because they have melodic vocals and stuff.

I'm a power metal fan, i like new bands like Dragonforce and stuff but i'm more into old school shit like Savatage and Helloween for that kinda stuff.

So basically you're saying you heard Nevermore once and decided that his voice sucks and never listened to any more, and then you made a statement saying they should get a new singer?

Dane's lyrics are some of the most profound in metal, and his voice is a bit flat to be honest, but that's what makes it so interesting. His solo album is great and pretty much shits all over anything metal has to offer these days.

All these horrible metalcore singers abound, not to mention dime-a-dozen horrible power metal singers and you're complaining about Warrel Dane? I just don't get it.

Dane does have some of the best lyrics ever, and I don't get the "they aren't a power metal band" junk. Yes, they are, ever heard Sanctuary? The idea here was just to be more aggressive than the first time around.

i dont think of nevemore as power metal... not sure what to fully label them... but the fact is imho i think his vocals fit the band perfectly and the lyrics are killer

I didn't like Dreaming Neon Black that much and This Godless Endeavor is awful, so yeah it's the only good one I've heard

Try The Politics of Ecstacy, it's totally different than their later albums. Kind of more straightforward thrashy stuff.

Well, I am a big thrash nut, so I'll probably dig it
