New CD's that you have gotten recently

Fear not!!!!!!
I had two of the Squadron's....

Just took the right item to catch my attention to bring it to the trade table.

I think we spent about three days finalizing the trade.

Overall, I can honestly say it was a great trade for both sides.

Simon - I am gunning for your CD box set next homeboy!

Holy smokes!!!
I forgot to report this acquisition!!!!

This was one of our most epic trades ever!
I got this bad boy in return!!!

I... Hot damn, that is a good acquisition. :OMG::notworthy:rock::kickass::Smokin:

Surprised you didn't have this already. What do you think of it?

Me too!!!!!!!!!
Just one of those albums I simply never picked up.

Was at FYE and they had it new.
With it right in front of me, I had to.

It's certainly not their best, but not as bad as some make it out to be.

The song Prophet stands up with anything else in their catalog, IMHO.
A perfect song and album opener. I had seen the new lineup perform this at Wacken (online).

I really like the title track as well.

Looking forward to the DVD as I think it has footage from 70000 Tons.

I enjoy it. It's just all over the place. They certainly didn't play it safe on the last album.

Interesting about Prophet. I think it's complete filler. Cool that we've got such differing thoughts.

And that's also why when an AD album sees the light of day it will be obvious who wrote which songs!!! :)

Yeah, it is odd. We both love Candlemass yet we seem to always be at odds when discussing their albums.

Ok, laugh away if you guys must....

I was listening to 97.1 the Drive on the way home from work the other day.

they played most of Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick.

holy crap, that tune kicks all amounts of ass!!!!

The best part of that song that feels non-filler is the riff that kicks in after one of the "staring at the sun" lines that a bit chuggy and has the lyrics about "the guardians of the purple flame" where the song takes a different direction. But the rest of the song... Definitely felt filler. Especially the repetition of "PROPH-PHET".

I enjoy Siren Song for its heavy use of keyboards making it sound different... But the song is too simplistic or something. Without the epic keyboard soloing, it'd be a total tosser.

There's lots of great parts of the album, but every song has like part amazing and then part not so amazing. It's just that the whole album is full of little shit that... Pisses me off isn't the right phrase, but annoys me I guess. Some of the choruses are mostly annoying repetitions of the song title or a single phrase. It winds up that PFTD is not heavy in my rotation of CDs. Fantastic guitar solos all over as usual, though.

Maybe I should listen to it again to make sure I'm not just remembering the album poorly or see if it has grown on me.
