New Chimaira tune up

sounds pretty clean, and that's just by judging the myspace player. The synths are a cool touch. The lead guitar is still pretty uninspired, but i've never listened to chimaira for solos. Sounds promising.

Sounds great! Andy really did a great job with the drums, duh ;)

The song itself was good. The solo was pretty lame, but the song itself is great.

I dig the song. I wouldn't say that it's massively innovative or anything, but it's really solid, heavy, and powerful nonetheless, and that chorus is awesome. So far as I can tell it's a slightly different snare sound than I've heard from Andy before, but I really like it. And the kick is strikingly similar to their last album, which is also a cool, Chimaira-appropriate change. I'm excited for the album.

hahahah we got a few glass half full guys.:heh:

I think this shit sounds great thus far and can't wait either for the album and looks like a DVD too!! Hope they got some sweet studio footage! :kickass:

I must admit besides the 3 Pantera DVD's that last Chimaira DVD was one of the best in my opinion so i got high hopes!

Thats what i always liked about them and i really got the vibe from dvd is there just regular down to earth guys!!

Very cool i wish them great success with there album and "nwright" hit the nail on the head and i think thats what makes them so unique in this time and era!!

Oh and I get to see them tonight in concert for thier anual after Xmas show in Cleveland... Hopefully they play some new songs :-)

Well they kinda became a-holes when RR signed them, but after the first album flopped they wised up. They are really good guys. Andols is da shit BTW :)

An Indianapolis band, Demiricous, are playing the Chimaira Christmas show as well. Our bands are good friends, as they did some guest spots on our demo...They released their debut on Metal Blade this year...Good band. Pretty much old school thrash/metal. Heavy Slayer influence. Hopefully you'll dig 'em.

FWIW, When Demiricous's drummer left the band shortly after their CD release, Andols actually tried out for Demiricous. This was during the time he left Chimaira.

That band was pretty good tonight, I enjoyed it.

Chimaira played a great set, they played that new song that just got released and they also played another new one, sounded very cool. Mark also played 3rd guitar on a few songs, which I have never seen them do before(I haven't seen them play in like 3 years, so they may have been doing this for a while)

Glad to see that they used ESP's for every song, and all the heads I saw on stage were 6505(i saw a few 5150's but they were all turned off, backups I guess) Overall live tone was superb IMO. I tried taking a pic of Andols kit because I wanted to know if you guys could tell me what mic they were using as overheads, but my camera is crap and nothing came out.
