New JOHN BUSH interview

Straight from the Bush's mouth:
"We had some real fucked up contracts, and some cock blocks clogged us to go forward with Anthrax."
I doubt he said "cock block" but you get the idea.
That's why I can't just answer a question. That's why I have to remain vague. Sorry, my ego just isn't that big. I don't need to hear myself speak. I can keep my mouth shut, especially when our lives in this business are on the line. John couldn't answer straight either. You have to understand that sadly this is a business and for me to be specific would cause unbelievable damage to this band and all its individual members. We'd be done. Buried under a mountain of litigious bullshit and we wouldn't be able to dig ourselves out and continue this time. We barely made it out alive after Volume 8. It would probably be easier for me to say nothing but I feel you deserve the respect you've earned from us. They may not be the answers you want but at least I'm here. I'm in the CDC all the time. I don't see anyone else being so proactive. This is my life and if you think for one second I take any of this for granted you are dead wrong.
Over the next few months we expect the air to clear for us. Until that happens, mumm is the word.
See you at Armored Saint in Glasgow.

I think certain things have to expire before they can talk. I can respect that. After all, I have rules in my profession that I don't like (can't come to work wearing nothing but a bodystocking) that I have to abide by too, even if I think it sucks. Hell, half the time I have to watch what I say, and that ain't good either. So, I think they're in the same boat. Business sucks, but we all have to deal with it at some point.

Thanks for that Scott.

They used the german word "Hemmschuh", I don't know the exact translation:

Black13, I understand your dilemma. For us it's hard to know nothing and for you it must be even harder not beeing allowed to tell us anything.
I can't keep any secret. Even my wife knows everything after some hours, because I can't stand such situations. I know, that's unhealthy :zombie:.

I hope that strange and unpleasant situation will end soon.

I must ad that the interview they did with Scott was total rubbish! the interviewer wasn't respectful at all and kept digging. fact is that ROCK HARD magazine has been a long time Bush supporter (which isn't bad) nut it helps that the interviewer is at leats partially on John's side and the one interviewing Scott was a Bush fanatic!

It's a cool interview though and John does appear to be a cool guy. I am happy there will be a new album with Joey though!
Well, Rock Hard said about these reproaches in the new issue:
"The interviewer isn't a fanatic Anthrax-listener. He's neither a fan nor a hater of one of the singers. He respects Anthrax' performance and all their vocalists (including Neil Turbin). He likes most of the records. He just thinks John Bush is the better singer and has an impressive personality. He doesn't like the way they handled the "Bush-Case"."

I don't think the Rock Hard guys are Bush supporters. I'd say they're Anthrax supporters. Before John joined "decades" ago, they wrote many good articles about Anthrax. So did they after John joined. That's one of the reasons I read it every month. The "Anthrax-factor" is very high in this magazine. Every review was positive. That they criticise some points of the reunion is ok, because it seems that's the trend in Europe. Sure, there are many reunion supporters, but I guess there are more people beeing sad that Bush left. That's just my personal impression. I think it's ok that magazines are critical if necessary. Compare it to the pop business: Most magazines only write positive, even if the shit stinks.
In the "metal-world" people are more honest. I like that.

By the way: Bush read the interview with Scott before he talked to Rock Hard.

"He’s a father since january.."
He has been a father...don't forget that lovely aspect that is the specialty of English, present perfect!

Just messing with you, freakbrother ;)

Thanks for the interview, it was wonderful to read something from John.

By the way, "Hemmschuh" could be "stumbling block". You're trying to move forward, but you keep stumbling/tripping over this fucking thing.

I definately know for shure that guy who did the interview with Scott was, read the interview, he was quite explicit about it! They ahve been pushing this whole anti reunion campaign a lot! ANTHRAX got one good review for the DYNAMO show last year and immediately after they started bashing, bashing and bashing!

I think the guys who did the Bush interview was very respectful (I wish they had shows the same respect towards scott or joey or danny) but even then he stated dumb thinks like Bush was the superior singer, he may think it is, but he also knows there's a lotta people who at least for ANTHRAX think otherwise.

They haven't shown one grain of respect towards Joey, whereas he still sang (and did a great job) one a few very important metal classics that have sold millions worldwide.

Anthrax have sold millions worldwide, not Belladonna alone.

Good interview...John is definitely a class act and I wish him the best. Oh well, I know what album I won't be buying in the near future.

I started listening to Anthrax because Rock Hard Magazine allways had many good articles and reviews about them. At that time Joey was the singer.
The first time they were critical was when the reunion-DVD came out. That's how it is with reviews. If they are bad, bands and fans hate them, if they are good, they love and need them. Maybe there's something true written in the reviews?
They also printed many letters written by Joey fans who hated the interview with Scott. If they'd be just Joey-haters, they wouldn't do that.
So, for me, they try to be as objective as they can be and they look at both sides of the case.

Thanks a lot, Drokk. Times and vocabulary are my personal "stumbling block".
When I was in school last millenium, I'd better learn more instead of drinking, smoking and listening to "evil" music. Now my brain is too old to learn new words and phrases, I guess. :Smokin:

That Bush interview was a long time comming. I guess that i can understand the situation a little better now, but that doesn't mean that i'm ok with it. John has indeed remained a class act throught all of this shit. Your voice will be missed!

But that's his fucking job to keep digging!!! That's how any news media person gets his material, unless he or she's a lazy piece of shit and makes it up! Can you fucking believe it - "...the interviewer wasn't respectful at all and kept digging..."?!!! Yes, and the fisherman kept fishing...:puke:
