Buy it at any university store - I got my copy of Logic 7 for $300, Logic 8 for $220, and expect to get Logic 9 for around $250, as well.
Yeah...this is why I didn't buy 8 when it first came out. The $250 is for academic institutions. Whatever though. For $450 you are getting a shitload of awesome software that used to cost twice as much. It is practically a steal even at full price.

Yeah, just saw it. I thought it wasn't it because the box looks the same as the Logic 8 one. AWESOME!

You have that feature in Cubase also, DSS3.
A tab to transient that locks things up based on other transients? Where??? There's not even a tab to transient in cubase!
The cool thing about the flex time tool is that it appears like it will grab the transient automatically, which is bad ass. I wonder how accurate it is.

Select kick track, detect hitpoints, create groove template. Select bass track, apply groove template. That's pretty much it I think?

also, someone might be able to answer this for me, is the local Apple store likely to have the "upgrade from Logic8" package in stock? or would that be a strictly Apple-Store-Only kind of thing?

yes. i mean this might be because apple made these videos, but this looks better then any other amp sim out there right now. And im talking overall, not metal.

I called my local Apple store on that.. they don't even have it in stock so I just ordered it online.
