Yeah, I agree with Kass about the middle part. Seems like the singer is trying to fit too many syllables in there. I have one suggestion to fix it...there are two words that sound "bad" to my ears..."...everything" and "...compromised".
I think they could both sound better with different time measures. For example instead of singing : "coooom-promised" it should be: "com-pro-mised". I hope I'm expaining it correctly. Same thing with "anything". I think it would sound a lot better this way.

OK, the latest mix sounds fantastic, and the performance is spot-on, but I'm still not sure about that scream in the one place it appears. If it were pitched, I'd probably love it, though. Also, I think the background vox during the bridge could use a little heavier bandpass filtering, but it still sounds good the way it is now. I voted for Jake early on, but now I like both renditions equally. Dammit!

I've been listening the song every day the last week to make a good decision. But damn it's so close, both have their strong points. I fucking worship Matt since I first listened to "The artist formely know as Prince", but Jake blew me away with "Misplaced Experts" and the beautiful "Under The Milky Way" cover. I knew this was gonna be a though one to choose between these guys.

I eventually chose Matt's version. It was a close finish but at 2 point in the song Matt stood out. The rest of the song both were equal. Especially the deliverance on 2:06-2:40, and the "Dying for you..." part at the end of the song did me choose for Matt's version. Don't get me wrong I like Jake's version ALOT. But those two parts made the difference for me.

I hope you guys keep up the good work, I can't wait to hear Wake Darker Skies with vox. Oh and Splat, great song/tone/production as usual. Damn you rock!
