No problem, most foreign people think that Turkey is much like an arab country regarding customs & traditions. It actually is not. It's more like an eastern european country with a muslim population.

yeah now i remember actually, reading that Turkish is an Indo-European language. Maybe i'll be able to pick up some phrases while i'm there.
To be exact, turkish belongs to the ural-altaic language group, which also includes finnish and many of the indigenous languages of Russia.
