So, anyone think it could actually be happening?
The only reason I'm bringing this up is because I've noticed that they haven't been on tour for a while and haven't made any plans to public.....
And for a high profile band that strikes me as a little odd.
Anyone in the know?
Or does anyone think it feasible that it will never be released/recorded?

(sorry if the title got your hopes up!)

some friends of me recorded at iguana studios some time ago and they said that it's coming,
just not sure atm, it either will be one of the best cds ever or it will just suck :D
wanna hear what they will do with the seven strings.

Yeah, the songs that they were playing live a couple of years ago sounded a little bit more...."open", if you know what I mean.
I have no doubt it'll be good, Muhammed is a natural, just how good waits to be seen though.

Also, it's a shame Müenzner isn't playing on this one either, his leads were great, but needs to play with someone with more songwriting ability than him.
Because Obscura just sounds like a shit version of Necrophagist.

Yeah, having seen them live, and attempted to get into them a couple of times, I feel pretty comfortable saying that.
They really don't have very good songwriting skills, obviously very good players (Hannes is hands down the best blaster I have seen live).
But their songs are ridiculously forgettable, especially on their latest album.
Obviously they are a bit more jazzy/progressive and less neo-classical than Necrophagist, but still comparable.

Bands that write using theory heavily generally don't hold my interest as well as others.

That sucks man. When I first heard Epitaph I absolutely loved it but nowhere near as much as I loved Cosmogenesis when I heard that. Obscura have probably been my favourite band for the last 2 years or so since I first heard them.
And at least they've actually been active in terms of writing and releasing compared to a one muhammed

I wasn't impressed with Epitaph to be honest minus Stabwound, but Onset Of Putrefaction is the SHEET.

I like Epitaph a lot.... but Onset rules so hard. :Spin: I have the symbol on the cover tattooed on my chest. That's how much I like it.

The more time that is spent making this album the better. Necrophagist takes releasing music seriously. That's the way it should be.

I used to be REALLY into these guys...nowadays, not so much, but I'm still looking forward to hearing new material if it ever surfaces.

That's it.

Be patient. It will come.
