NHL 2013 SEASON IS GO!

Damn, the Kings are having a crazy series with the Blues. Glad they won in the end, but allowing that equalizer in the last minute was just sloppy.

Ha ha! Oh I hate the Habs alright but that pales in comparison to all the calls that team has benefited from in the past. Habs fans can take the claim of ignorance here. Please anyone out there beside blind Hab fans dispute this? It starts with every player that slips and falls on the ice and then you hear every Hab fan moaning for a call...its actually hard to watch their home games seriously. Dude wake the fuck up even Brasil in the world cup finals with BRASILIAN refs wouldn't benefit from more calls.

Anyway, what an a amazing game 4 between Bs Leafs. Finally this series woke up! Bs down 2 early and gutsy comeback and win in OT...Krejci w the trick he's nailing it. That was the best Bs game ive seen since conf finals game 7 v Lightning a few years ago. Very well played Toronto.

And Tuukka not being a Vezina finalist isn't right. He has proved his case this season and has showed this type form in this series...oh well.

Come on, any goalie would do well in the Bruins system..why even care? Bobs deserves it.

The Canucks do worse in the playoffs every year, I bet next time they'll manage to lose 5 straight games. Time to get a real goalie.

Niemi and Bob certainly had better seasons than Tuukka, can't say much for Lundqvist though.

Bob should win it though.

EDIT:

You mean time to get an offense? Luongo was the least of the teams problems.

You're correct to a point but some of the Bruins D-men had meh years. Chara wasnt really great, Ferrance and Mcquade were horrible at times. They've relied more on Tuuk than I expected and his numbers were really good. They / he benefited more from great two way forwards than the D-men. Doesnt really matter...team trophys all I care about.

Note. The Past 3 teams who have eliminated the Vancouver Canucks the past 3 seasons (Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles) have gone on to win the Stanley Cup. Is this Finally the Sharks year?

Sure the forwards didn't exactly light up the Sharks, but I'm starting to think that Luongo is a bit of a locker room cancer who spreads a bad atmosphere in the team.

They were down Malhotra and Booth, but the Sedins haven't really been playoff studs, have they?

Yeah that's why I think he kind of crumbles when the pressure is on him more, but I think i'll watch the next Leafs game(thank god for CBC for hockey season!) and see what's going on, not to big on rooting for either team honestly.

I just don't think they are that complete of a team, it's hard to see anyone beating the Hawks in the west, unless the Kings or Blues start scoring more, then they could challenge 'em.

I don't think so... Niemi has been phenomenal so far and Big Joe, Marleau and Pavelski have been dominant since the start of the playoffs. Which in recent years they haven't.

This team is scary. My second favorite team. We'll see how it goes.

Sucks my habs are out. They couldn't get the bounces to go there way, if Armstrong scores on that breakaway that game is totally different. I consider it a successful season, Of course it ended in a shitty way.

Oh well Pittsburgh should run Ottawa over, No WAY there D contains that offense.

I picked the Sens over Habs. The way the teams went into the playoffs and the Sens getting healthy...it was more like a 4 v 5 seed series. Habs applied good amounts of offensive pressure but were too shaky in the other areas. If the Sens v Pens happens I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Sens were to win. They are real steady well coached good system and don't seem to get too rattled. Of course we all know how scary (good) the Pens can look.

The Hawks are going to wrap up the series tonight. I didn't think they had a great offensive series, but they are hard to score goals on. I would rather face the Wings than Sharks in the next round. The Sharks certainly have star power, and Niemi is playoff proven. It wouldn't be easy, but I think Vancouver would be the toughest matchup in the west.

Interesting subplot is that Crawford has firmly established himself as the #1 goalie, after splitting duty with Emery in the regular season. He was superb and earned it, but I wonder if anything had changed had Emery been healthy. Emery had a great regular season.

The finals are going to be fascinating, with no one facing off before the finals.

If they do Anderson is the only reason they get past them. Which I don't think is possible, their D isn't good enough to contain Pittsburgh's ridiculously high offense.

Not to mention their offense. If they get Spezza back in time they have a legitimate shot but even then Pittsburgh should be the clear cut favourite. That is, if Pittsburgh gets past NYI, which I'm presuming.

I can't believe it took the Pens so long to bench Marc-Andre Fleury. If he was even a decent goalie he would have a legit shot to break Brodeur's career win record and the Pens would be in the midst of a dynasty.
