NHL 2013 SEASON IS GO!

Fuck your team Mort. Fuck 'em.

:heh:

Nice to know that the Wings can go in against the 2nd best team in the west and steal 4 points. First game was a complete destruction of Ducks goal tending, and the second game was a case of Howard standing on his head willing us to win.

What I don't get is why is there such a one sided amount of animosity coming from the Ducks to the Wings? The first game was filled with Ducks players making runs at us, and this last game I'm surprised there wasn't some kind of murder attempt

The Ducks just have to act like goons when they go up against skill teams that can skate.

Hawks have been on a bit of a slide since Sharp got hurt, and with Hossa being in and out with shoulder/concussion issues, they're looking a lot more vincible. I'm hoping they can make a deal for a #2 center who can actually win face-offs, but with the short schedule, every GM is going to think their team is in it and just might get hot. It's going to take a ransom to get anything more than a bad contract.

After the Sabres win 3 good games, we lost to TB last night. Over this season and hopefully we sell a lot of our 'talent', now I have to find a team to root for the playoffs.

They're going all in this year, and if it doesn't work out they're screwed in the future considering they have a ton of players to sign with not too much money available.

The Penguins defense and goaltending is still their weakness. These recent trades don't change that. Doug Murray is a stay-at-home defenseman on the decline. Iginla and Morrow are not the same players they were a few seasons ago but they should put up good numbers if they're paired with Crosby or Malkin. Crosby/Malkin is the core of that team and they make average players like Dupuis and Kunitz look great.

They won't win the cup. Stacked teams necessarily doesn't guarantee anything. I can't wait to see them choke in the first round :)

ffs this wings team is so maddeningly inconsistent

the bright light for this season though has to be seeing how well all of our young players have been (well, lashoff aside)

Nyquist finally has been given consecutive games instead of one off call ups, Tatar had a great 18 game stretch, Andersson seems to have cemented himself as a mainstay for the line up due to his size and defensive responsibility, Smith has been solid defensively and despite not having his offense coming on (which I believe is a product of coaching trying to just have a 'simple' defense) his puck moving has been nothing but a positive, though his boneheaded turnovers are kind of a pain but a growing pain due to his being a rookie, Danny DA KAISER has shown promise in his two games, and Mrazek played well in net when he was called up.

Another major positive is the turn around of Jakub Kindl

He was a first rounder several years ago and has been in the Babcock Dog House for quite some time, but he has finally had his breakout season this year and I am so happy to see him perform so well

What we really need now is some scoring ability because strangely, defense is not our major issue - if we had that we wouldn't be fighting for a playoff spot we would have secured it firmly by now

Bruins will soon be adding Carl Soderberg from the Swedish league (now over). This guy sounds like a beast. Any familiar w this guy cause I don't know too much about him?

I hate Vancouver more than any other team. It's sort of amazing how a team can be so thuggish and such pussies at the same time.

As a Hawks fan I'm contractually obligated to hate the Wings the most, but I just haven't for the past few years other than Bertuzzi, who is a piece of walking shit. (I feel the same about Carcillo on the Hawks, fwiw.) Otherwise, I respect what they do. Too bad Detroit is crying their way out of the West.

Solid win last night hope we can keep this up and get into the playoffs, otherwise going to be a weird postseason
