Wow. Great to hear his process. I find it unusual that he starts at the cab and works back, most guys start with the guitar and go from there with maybe the mic/pre choice last.
I also find it very odd that he auditions mic cables. I really didn't think it would make a difference once they were of good quality and balanced. Surely the multicore cabling would probably colour the sound more than the mic cabling from the mic to the multi would.
