NIU Shooting

But Krig should know that we are in a different century and what happened in the past doesn't excuse anyone to shot as a fuckin' bastard crazy on any institution.

I just said that we are living in a world that changes everytime, and we can't think like our ancestors, cuz they didn't have constitution and laws as we have nowadays. Everything is different and i think that people regrets a lot when says that guns were the main tool to build any country.

There was no constitution and no laws in the 1940s?

I get the point, though...and it's true. There's no longer any good reason for civilians to own weapons (if there ever was).

Yes, I've heard of fucking minutemen. I live in the Boston area - statues everywhere. Did you know that Massachusetts is where the Revolution began? Because I sure do!

That said, yes. A long time ago there was a legitimate reason for citizens to own guns. Now that we have police forces, a national guard, and a standing army, we're all set. No need anymore.

lol at assuming police and military fulfill all needs of protection. God we don't need another fucking gun thread :(

BACK ON TOPIC,
Dunno if this has been mentioned yet but has anyone seen the interview with the killers girlfriend? She says he was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. Always the typical response from neighbors-family after a person dies.(or in this case kills:zombie:)

Can we talk about how this thread makes us want to shoot ourselves in the face? Because that is pretty much how I feel tbh.

@Belligerent: I didn't read the whole thing, but I got the idea. It's always the same thing: "He was such a nice boy," "I was so surprised," " I couldn't believe it" etc...

I guess a few weeks before the shooting he got a few strange tattoos. One of the guy from Saw(the movie) and another of a skull w/knife through it. This story is undeniably sad. Every way you look at it.

The sad part is that he killed 2 people.
Why don't these assholes have the decency to just kill themselves quietly? Or even really really dramatically. Just...not other people. People who I assume this guy didn't even know.

what has caused this phenomenon over the last decade or so,surely it cannot be explained as copycats,or maybe they feel that this is now exceptable.I think the people who do this should not be felt sorry for as it sets an example of sympathy for the next guy who enters this mindframe. These people do not deserve a proper burial, infact i don't think they should be named publicly.

care to elaborate, or would you just like to shoot down other people's ideas without any justification?

Sloughfegkillers is assuming that all people who shoot up places are the same, obviously that's not so. This guy was a very good student and a generally good person, and I do feel sorry for him because it seemed like he was living a pretty good life but then he screwed it all up by shooting these people and shooting himself; it's tragic on both sides.

It's indeed sad that he felt this way but come on we've all been through hard times, some more so than others.A good friend of mine shot himself recently, he was a hardcore dude and the last person who'd i'd have thought would do such a thing, dunno i just can't justify taking innocent people down as well

It's the kind of shit that does not encourage objective and thoughtful efforts to understand the problem at hand or the people involved. It's exactly the same kind of shit when people call suicide bombers "madmen". Would you mind telling me how heavy-handed moralizing and name calling is supposed to be constructive?

Well, if someone's crazy enough to actually take their own life, you can't really put anything past them. They might just kill other people in order to feel like their own death will have more meaning. And in a way, I guess it works, since a mass killing in a developed country will inevitably get heavy media coverage.
