Yep. They called it quits... The source is their official site. www.dissection.nu .. Hmm. Your thoughts?

Personally I think they ended it at the right time. I really didn't like the new album at all. I didn't hate it as it had a couple decent songs on it.. But I kinda saw it like the new Evergrey CD.. Good in it's own right, but a very half-assed effort with all involved. RIP Dissection...Well, at least until they have another coem back album again... At this rate, they'll outdo Cher. :p

personally i think this is fucking ridiculous. john is always doing this shit like THIS WILL BE OUR FINAL GIG OF THE CLASSIC MATERIAL, THIS WILL BE OUR FINAL THIS OUR FINAL BLAH BLAH BLAH. its all publicity bullshit and its really lame and not metal. they just made a new album which I and a lot of other people really like and he probably likes it too, its not like the album was a complete and utter failure so they need to break up. I hope they play in la before this stupid breakup. outrageous.

They're are playing their shows, and then breaking up. If you had read the interview, you'd know Jon has decided that Dissection has run its course as a means to promote the MLO and is now going to focus on other means. He thinks Reinkaos is his greatest album and that it did its purpose...

HAHA dissection playing in israel. Sorry... that really amuses me.

why ?
You view on Israel is wrong... Its not a country full of orthodox and religious people Max... in fact the religious people are only 10% of the population...
most Israelis live the same way you do... very liberal and "western"
those 10% are the ones who cause all the problems... SADLY.
But metal bands always play there....
heh, I don't mean to be the "Israel-body-guard" there are a lot of things I don't like about this place, but your views on this country are wrong and false.

with that being said: I am going to be there on June 17th to see Dissection

DL, I think you maybe read too much into that comment. I took it to mean that the idea of a band like Dissection playing in the "holy land" seems incongruous. I think most people are aware that Israel is a modern "western" democracy.

I know, i'm touchy on some points... I hate so many things about Israel
but few things I'll never let go by... does that make sense?
at any event... its also not so "holy" but hey :loco:

Oh not its not that at all, i thought it would be funny for a black metal band with far right, almost national socialist ideals playing a show for Israelis. I meant no disrespect to the people of Israel, i was more making fun of Dissection. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

shitty politics, right wing extremist (the right wing there are the conservatives), some of the rude people who adopted too much for the
medeterenian mentality, the terror..... you know the usual :)
But I had some of my best years there... the country is beautiful and Tel Aviv is seriously one of the coolest cities I've been to, and I've been to a lot ;)

Max: I see your point... hehe, we had a lot of BM bands coming there
and falling in love with the country, and they were all like: "uh, we didn't really mean to say we hate jews"
oh brother... I have so many stories... one day over beer

The State of Israel was a rather misguided creation in the first place, and the fact that they have done so well in a very bad situation says a lot of good things about the people there.

Lesson 1: Don't attempt to build a "national homeland" for any one people or religion. It just separates people from their neighbors by focusing on their differences.

Lesson 2: If you are going to ignore lesson 1, don't go artificially chopping up a section of the world into several new countries to make your plan work. People that had been living there for all of civilized history were doing just fine. Leave it to the U.N. to screw up a thousand year history of good relations between Muslims and Jews.

Israel is posibly the most :kickass: country on earth. They have an arson holiday.
