You're doing it right. I'll just throw some psyllium husk into my bedtime whey shake or combine something else to slow it down a bit. I used to go crazy with it...not anymore. You can drive yourself crazy and in the end, most of the minute details don't matter as much as you think. Besides, its not like Im gonna compete on stage or anything.
 
I just do those protein shakes, no other mumbo-jumbo half-steroid drinks or anything, plus I try to eat more with every meal and more meals, and I work out three times a week. It's for general well-being, so turning it into a chore and/or an obsession (this whole training thing) would be counter-productive I think.
