It reflects the turmoils the band went trough the recording as it is very diverse musically, from electro to very heavy tracks, some more classical Deftones tunes and I even here a post rock influence on some songs.

Interesting.

yeah i noticed the post rock influence too, BUT its a very shitty album

there is a post-rock influence on the album but tbh it wasn't incorporated well. the album really just sounds like a bunch of random, sub-par songs thrown together to prove that the deftones dont stick necessarily to one genre. that said, the deftones were the first "metalish" band i listened to and enjoyed immensely. i still enjoy white pony, and a few tracks from the other deftones albums, but the emotional connection i have for the deftones isnt enough to bias my opinion on the new album. its shit.
