I just picked up their new record "Ghost Reveries" and I gotta say I am impressed. Great band - one minute heavy as fuck death metal the next haunting acoustic and progressive. Saw them live also here last year and they played half the set mellow and half heavy as hell - excellent show.

Some people find them a bit too "progressive" but I am converted.

Your thoughts?

Haven´t had the chance to listen to Ghost Reveries yet, but if it´s nearly as good as Blackwater Park, Still Life or Morningrise, I´m sure I´m gonna be blown away once again.
I think Opeth has found the perfect mix between prog and brutality, whereas I often get bored with bands that are too prog (I know it may sound strange to find prog boring, but I need a certain dose of "mosh").

My best Opeth live experience was at Inferno Festival ´03, they were on fire! Have also seen them in Germany and in Denmark....

The question should be, 'Any Opeth non-fans?' methinks.

I'm a big fan, own all of their albums (almost all on vinyl) and still find each of them to be a great listen after all these years.

Nothing will stop 'Still Life' though.
