Since you are new, you dont know but there used to be an Opeth off topic forum. and they closed it down.

Talk to UM moderators and ask them to create an off topic area for you,outside of Opeth Forum.
 
If it has to be so. It will give the forum new life as well, as things can go off topic there and stay more on topic in the Opeth related threads. I guess off topic is annoying for new fans who may not see "important opeth related threads" if the first page is all off topic stuff. But seriously, its sad if that is the case. But I understand sort of...
 
I voted yes, but I'd rather not have to. Like I already said, seeing as we all have a common interest in Opeth, it can be more fun if the topics originate there and then go off-topic. I mean, come on, is anyone opposed to the idea of going off topic gonna tell me that all of their conversations with people stay on the same topic all the time?
 
Opeth aren't gonna support the idea, nor are they going to pay for another sub-forum, IDENTICAL to the one they closed a few years back, which then became half the reason I got made mod.

There are off-topic sectors on UM guys. You can just agree amongst each other to frequent them. It doesn't have to be endorsed by Opeth for it to be a viable option.

good point. but it'd be like. Ok, sorry guys who usually post here. A flood of Opeth fans is gonna take over now.
 
Perhaps the issue, Moonlapse, is that many of us don't want to discuss our topics with completely new people once again. We are generally comfortable with each other here at the moment.
But I can perfectly see why we don't have an OT forum, I don't expect Opeth to pay for it.
 
atrocity STFU!!!! and yeah, i don't think they'd pay for an OT forum. but it's more like talking random stuff with fellow opethians that talking random stuff with some stupid band's fans that i don't care about.... but oh well.. i think we should just keep it the threads about opeth... but still... it could get a little boring and then we would have threads like ... "what opeth memeber is the sexiest?" because... how many times can we discuss what album has the best productino before getting old?!
