atrocity STFU!!!! and yeah, i don't think they'd pay for an OT forum. but it's more like talking random stuff with fellow opethians that talking random stuff with some stupid band's fans that i don't care about.... but oh well.. i think we should just keep it the threads about opeth... but still... it could get a little boring and then we would have threads like ... "what opeth memeber is the sexiest?" because... how many times can we discuss what album has the best productino before getting old?!
Bingo, you win. +100.

We're running out of material. IF we can't discuss OT topics, this forum is going to get very boring, very fast.

It's a very slippery slope, with more freedom given to subject matter. It all eventually tumbles down and you end up with something like the Nevermore forum. On the old off-topic forum there was all kinds of abuse, racism, sexism etc. etc. and I can see how Opeth don't want to be held accountable for any of that.

If the Seriously Off-Topic forum still exists, you guys can head down there and populate it. All the previous residents moved away from UM, so there should still be a spot open.

Mutiny in the Opeth camp!

Look i can understand about the SPAM thing, but come on, not speaking about anything except song titles, why the lyrics make you cry, whats your favourite member, song, stuff like that. Most of the threads start out on topic but end up off topic anyway. So aslong as the threads start out on topic and after a couple of pages to vere off into other things (im talking about the drinks thing here) such as technique for using dr pepper lol, surely this is better than people arguing over why they dont like ghost reveries and mikael coming along and obviously being offended by a small minded fan. All the on topic song title, i want to bum this song threads end up in more shit towards the band than any drinks thread will ever do.

what about giving the chance of some random shit talk just say.. hm.. sundays? then delete all the threads the next day... just to giveus some room but still keep the forum clean from our OT threads?

Is it just, like, your mission to disagree with everything everybody says?!?!?!

My mission is against a new " Opeth Off Topic Forum " .

Otherwise I'll agree with most things you say :tickled:

affinity has a valid point there... all threads end up being completely off topic... one of the reasons being that we can't handle very well different opinions (myself included). so it's easier to just start talking some different sttuff than discussing if SL or GR is better everyday without going anywhere

And we did try to come up with ideas to keep it fresh, and when they got posted the got deleted. Soon all the on topic topics will be said and anything we add will have to be deleted. Theres always tour questions and a handful of prog related threads but its all the same answers anyway.

It doesnt matter if im right (unfortunatley lol) Its up too Mike. He has way more experience of this forum than i do. same with Moonlapse. I Think it was unreasonable to delete a thread that was totally harmless and not delete the threads where there is most arguments just because it is 'On topic'
