So, my dad gets out of the hospital yesterday in decent spirits. I talked to him while I was @ work, and he seemed to be quite happy to be home. I was actually looking forward to spending the next couple weeks with him since he seemed so happy (dealing with drug-demented, depressed dad isn't a whole lot of fun, but I would have done it, obviously). I get a call about an hour and a half later, only to find out he fell, and landed directly on his unprotected stump. The end of where his leg was just completely opened, 6" of surgically shaped tissue dangling in the breeze flapping WIDE open. It was a huge mess, and of course he's back in the hospital. They have to wait a week for the swelling to go down before they COMPLETELY have to redo the tissue covering from his amputation. NO idea how long he'll be in for, but he's starting back at square one. His prototype prosthesis is useless now, and he'll have to be re-cast, and re-measured for a new one. We've already been having issues with Medicare and his other insurance, we'll see how fast they are now. :mad: My next 2 weeks just got a whole lot more complicated. Life sucks the bitter cock right now....:cry: I'm THIS || close to reaching critical mass......:erk:
 
Shit Jdubya, sorry to hear that.:erk: Of all of the possible setbacks that accompany surgery, it seems he got one of the worst. I hope everything works out OK for him.
 
Aww crap, JayDub..I'm sorry to hear about your dad, that sucks ass. I hope the swelling will go down quickly so they can get things put back together..damn.

Outta here at 3:30am, sleep for a few, and head down to Chicago for a couple days...Nobody deserves to be dealt such a shitty hand as my dad. Nobody...
 
i'm really sorry to hear that JDubs. i hope everything turns out well. if your father is nything like you, he probably has a strong enough mind to make it through this.

Ouch, sorry J-Dub :( As long as we're talking about dads, mine just put in for early retirement...he couldn't stand his new boss, so that made his decision easier, but now he's got 7 weeks of full paid vacation to use up as well, must be nice :)

Kamelot fans, does anybody know where I can find a high-resolution version of the Ghost Opera Second Coming cover art? I'd love to have that as my wallpaper...my res is 1680x1050, so something huge :D I posted this request in a thread at the Kamelot forum last night, and today I look and it's deleted...WTF? Harris, did the KamForum have a meltdown...hardly any threads there.
