Well, there was this vessel full of cold lake water...

Nah seriously, sauna is so casual place. It's a place for conversation and relaxation even when it's full of drunken people. If your eyes stray close to forbidden areas it's very possible someone adds more cold water to the hot stones (either yours or the fireplace's.)

I just got asked to join up with some touring act. It's a pretty well-established country act that tours mostly in the midwest. They do a lot of great opening gigs and such...all pretty well-paying. Looking at the dates now though and I don't think I can do it. I'd have to miss too much school...which I don't know if I can do this semester because I've got my junior recital and other important stuff coming up that requires quite a bit of my time, focus, and effort. Money aside, this would be a pretty good foot-in-the door gig though. Fuck choices:bah:.....

On the bright side, offers like this reassure me that I'm doing some things right.

If you took it, and played Country Thunder in Twin Lakes, WI, I'd come heckle! :D
(I generally TRY to get out of town that weekend. Turns Southern WI into a zoo...)

You'll have more offers next summer, is probably the best way to look at it.

Man, how do you uh.... keep down your excitement? I'd be humping every woman's leg in the place.

 I was thinking the same thing...

Nice man, good luck with the choice...

lol, I double checked the dates they gave me and unfortunately that's not in there. I've only got their schedule up through October. Lots of dates in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, a week in Nevada, and some others. I understand what you mean...especially if it's anything like the state fairs back in Montana:lol:.

razoredge- I agree, and that's the redeeming point in this if I turn it down. It's just a bit of much appreciated reassurance that I've been making the right impressions on the the right people. They aren't even requiring an audition of me...it's simply the result of word of mouth from a drummer a did a couple country gigs with and them some recordings I did with the same guy. It doesn't matter who you are...bits of reassurance from time to time are nice.

Where in Ill-Annoy? Just wondering. Country Thunder is like the last week in July/Early August. Big recognizable (for me anyway) name acts, it's a pretty big deal, but the roadblocks and drunk checkpoints are a pita for almost a week.....July 16-19 this year.....too bad I don't care for most country, otherwise I'd be in a sweet spot for the fest...

Just double checked....no shows in Illinois. Must've read wrong the first time. Looking at that site, I doubt I'd be at all interested in that fest either. I like country music quite a bit, but all of those acts (at least the ones I've heard)are just pop music played on tele's. No doubt that some of them are talented singers and their writers have writen some pretty catchy tunes along the way though. They are to country as linkin park is to metal.

One of my cats was chasing this guy around the basement a few minutes ago. Anybody know what it is? I'm looking around the web now. As far as I can tell it's got either 30 or 32 legs and I'm in Northern Virginia.

I was just reading up on them last night. They are actually pretty common and if anything they are good to have in the home...they eat roaches, spiders, flies, etc.. Personally, having one type of bug to eat the other bugs is less appealing than no bugs at all, but whatever. It also says they don't generally live in large numbers and their bite doesn't hurt any worse that a wasp or something. We just moved into the new house so I've been finding all kinds of big bugs in the basement here. I figure once we treat the yard and continue to settle in a bit more we wont have that problem.

Yeah, I still have the thing..you can see it's mouth pretty well. They wont go out of their way to get you but it is possible for them to bite. Bugs usually don't bother me at all. The other night, I thought I had a brown recluse (not positive...most likely wolf spider but didn't look definitively like either) and threw a shoe at it from across the room. The only reason I killed that centipede was because my cat was chasing it around and I had no idea what it was or if it was poisonous or anything.
