I'm about to go on a quest, in my lunch-break, to a secondhand cd store. My mission is to find some awesome fusion albums. High on the list is anything with Scott Henderson, Greg Howe, Allan Holdsworth, and maybe a few others. Wish me luck...

Wished luck! You can find some excellent stuff in second hand music stores!

I just signed up for 'last fm' and according to the total play count of songs - I have played over 8300 songs. I have only had my computer a little over a year..

A few years back I got:

Cacophony- Go Off
Greg Howe- s/t
Michael Lee Firkins- s/t
Vinnie Moore- Time Oddyssey
Tony Macalpine- Maximum Security
Vinnie Moore-Mind's Eye

all used, all in one trip to the store, for a total of about 20-25 bucks. Those (along with a handful of others that I already had) must've all belonged to the same guy who just decided he'd had enough of shred guitar or something...but in the end I won and that's all that matters. I probably get about 75% of my cd's used now...the remaining 25% is almost entirely of new releases. Anyway, my point is I highly reccomend the used route.

Fully glorious! Blacker than night.

d00dages, I've only just heard!!! Deschutes Black Butte XX, the 20th anniversary porter! Email from the local beer market:

The much awaited arrival of Deschutes Black Butte XX is finally here. This beer was produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Black Butte Porter. XX is an Imperial Porter with a lot more malt and hops along with a wealth of coffee, cocoa nibs and then aged in bourbon oak barrels. Oh yeah! 11% ABV.
