Official Off Topic Thread

Haha, I was literally just talking about Red Alert 3 on the Alestorm forums  That somewhat hot chick from Hollyoaks (shit teenager themed TV show in the UK) is in it

Sound File of me playing the chorus to Paradise Lost.

This is a recording I did about a year ago. I play on a really shitty electric drumset, recorded through my computer mic (played through an amp), and I play the guitar, also recorded through my computer mic. I am in no way a guitarist... I can barely play Green Day songs, so don't expect too much, haha. Enjoy!

Not bad at all, Erik. :) I'd like to play drums, haven't played for ten years.

The sound quality is not so good though (maybe Jens Bogren could tune it a bit ) but that's what you get when you record through a computer mic. Keep posting the stuff, I'd love to hear more.

Hey, thanks a lot, man! I don't have much other material, but maybe I'll create some stuff in the future :)

So, I'm a Installation Systems Engineer for SkySkan. They're a small company that leads their field, which is building planetariums. They don't make the dome itself, but they make the projectors, server racks, fibers, speaker systems, and various hardware/software to run it all. Not just space stuff either, there's a 3D live world weather simulator as well (way better than the ones the news channels use), and Xbox360 on the curved dome in HD is getting developed too. My job is to fly around the world to countries who want a custom setup, and install/repair. Essentially it means building stuff in another country for a week or so, then either coming home or flying on to another country. And the flyer miles are mine to keep. So, since Australia, China, Nederlands, Hawaii (not a country, but you know), Egypt, Argentina, Brazil, and Germany are on the list for the near future, I may be in one or more of those countries :). I'll get a company laptop and a blackberry with international numbers. It promotes into company management.

Sweet deal, imo.

Holy crap! How come I missed this? Congrats man, that's a kickass job for sure. Have a drink on me! :)

Holy Jesus, Kenneth! Just like Marwen I missed that post too. Now I understand your easy attitude about visiting Finland. That's a fucking sweet deal you got there. Hell yeah, keep me informed when your personal Learjet is circling above my apartment.:kickass:

Yeah, i'm stoked out of my mind. That could just be the rum though, or the royal asskicking I got at Upper Valley Go Club today.

v----------- This picture, btw, is from New Sun. I couldn't -not- have some wolfian fanboyism in every post, could I?

Yeah, you know it.

Edit: So I just heard I'll probably be headed out to California next week. :headbang:
Did someone say party time?

Speaking of which... the other day, I saw a guy with a tattoo of a wrist watch around his wrist. And instead of numbers, it said "PARTY TIME." It took a few minutes, then it hit me that HE'S GOING TO HAVE THAT FOR HIS WHOLE LIFE, AND THAT'S AWESOME.

Same one from earlier in the Summer? Congrats Dude!

Thanks:)

Different one actually. This one is a broadway style musical production. I got the CD tonight to start learning the tunes and it's quite full of pretty good tongue-in-cheek humor and the likes. It's only a 5 piece band (excluding the singers/actors) and I know most of them, so it should be fun. These are the kind of gigs I am hoping to get more of: short-term engagements that pay well, don't require extraneous commitments, and look good on resumes. The only issue with this one is it's going to cut into my practice time for my recital in November:erk:
